Most awesome gear ever - Grievous Ward...

So, i just realized that the random insults from the Lord Warden, saying i fight with no skill and how i will pay for the insults, was indeed not some weird "stuck in quest" bug, which i had just assumed.

Apparentlt (which many prob already knew) the Lord Warden is trapped inside the Shield, like a Soulgem or something.

Since finding out, i have gone out of my way to use the shield (and the named sword as well), even when it really does not make much sense. It is just so awesome having him taunt me from time to time, crying like a little dremora baby.

Anyhow, what do you think? And does anyone know if there are more really unique items, with more than just name and flavortext, in the game?

There's a quest item that talks to you while you have it in your inventory. It keeps telling you to kill people, and submit to its curse. You don't have to go any further in the quest past picking it up, and dark commentary every time you kill something.

Ah yes it's a ring in Grahtwood for a quest that you pick up. Quite dark commentary. Very well done though.

That must be one of the most annoying quests in the game as far as interfering with general exploration. Especially if you have a chunk of others quests and have no idea which quest it's tied to. I had to post in the quest forum to find out which quest/item was slowing my character down to a crawl every second or so kill. You're more or less forced to go from point A to B and onto C just to get rid of it. Not saying the actual quest is bad per se, just so damn annoying.

The "Unbroken" dropped for me in White Gold Tower yesterday. It's a unique staff in the Spell Power Cure set.

I, too, have a Grievous Ward shield sitting in the bank. Also have two unique Warden's Courage swords (Leeching Plate set) ... be on the lookout for them next time in ICP.

Yeah I had that shield and for the longest time I kept getting annoyed by his voice constantly talking to me so when I finally found out it was because of the shield I instantly destroyed it.

I just wish the Grievous Leeching Ward could be enchanted. That jewelry enchant (health regen!! Really!!) is garbage.

I'd love to use this as part of my Leeching Plate Set but not with a junk enchant.

I am also using this on my tank (I have the old Endurance set version) just for this reason Best shield in game!

I got rid of it because it was an Endurance shield and never bothered to use it.

Had I but known it actually talked, I might have kept it around for a little while

I dont have the name. Get the quest just north of eldenroot from a hanging body.

Remember that time when we were waiting on a tank before the Abomination and light attacking Warden joking about how we'd get this thing done quicker. Ended up getting random wiped on the final fight. Light attacks must've p***ed him off.
