After spending the last week playing I have come to the conclusion that I must not be doing the right thing to earn levels. Jumping back on one of my old character it took me several hours to hit lvl 12 from 10.

All I did was harborage quest + guild quest while doing solo dungeons in betwen (and picking up sky shard along the way).

Tell me there is another way to earn EXP. because its a bit depressing to spend hours to earn a single lvl when your in your low 10's lol.

I did all main quests I could (about 5-6 per zone), harbrorage quests, fight and Mage quests aswel as grab every skyshard in the zones (including delves) up til level 20 but in truth.... I found farmimg the dolmens (anchors) to be by far the quickest way, it took me about 15-20 hours to level from 1-50

It's boring at times but worth it in the long run, if your n PC there's still the witches festival to get the 100% exp aswel

First you have to answer, Questing or Grinding?

Grinding, google for ESO Grind Spots and go grind on mobs.

Questing, the Zone Main Quests that handle the zone stories are rich in experience and will get you levels. At the base, completing a zone will net you about 12 to 14 Levels and by complete, I mean most, not all the content.

You should get about half a level in a Delve getting the Skyshard and killing the Boss, unless you are going through a Delve that is being Farmed, then you will be lucky to find 5 mobs to fight.

Guild Quests do not give much Experience, Game Main Quest is pretty decent, but remember the first quest is for L5, so if your L10, then the experience might be middling (not sure exactly as they may have scaled the Exp now). Do the main quests for the zones for the most experience, along with the side quests at those quest hubs.

So, if your in a hurry to get to 50, there are ways to get there. If your worried about being on level with the content, well, it all scales now, so you don't have to worry about that. So, just play the game and don't worry about the levels if that is the case.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Doing the quests overland and killing extra mobs along the way gets you more experience. The instanced main story and guild quests don't typically give you as much because they have far fewer mobs in them.

Grinding mobs in any area with high density and quick respawns is still the fastest way by far though.

I made sure not to pick up any side quest along the way, that way I kept track easier but you end up getting to know the people involved in the quest as you go along. I'll go back and do all the side quest later to rget loot drops ect I made sure to discover all locations in the zone

Rapid maneuver is your friend through out

B4 one tamriel I used to grind spot and it was fast. But Now mobs grinding is slow as hell since you can't abuse of the lvl difference.

With egar I used to be able to pull 3-4 mobs higher in levels then me but now they are scaled to my exact lvl and the EXP seems to be horrible.

That or I must find new spots.

You can get to level 15 from 12 just by exploring your zone thoroughly. Just kill anything that gets in your way. Grab skyshards and read the mage books. Then go back and clear the zone out and you should be about level 22 before you move on to your next zone.

The Zone Main Quests are pointed out to you by the in game NPCs and they tell you to go somewhere and do something. At the end of each stage, the game tells you to go the next one. This differs from all the other quests in that you stumble upon them as you go along. Here is a list to find the Main Ones in case you miss something

Also, note that you don't always get the next quest stage from the NPC you turn the last stage into, sometimes it's another NPC nearby.

Do not grind, that's boring. Do not try group finder dungeons because you have very high change to get kick.

Here is the best way to level up
1, Beg ppl to craft some green gear set for you when you are level 16, 26, 36, and 46

2, explore each map - killing every boss in delves, collecting all sky shards and lore books, beating 3 dark anchors and all world bosses.

3, do 6 world boss daily and 1 delves daily quests in Wrothgar. You need to beg ppl to share.

4, do 4 daily quests in the gold coast. You need to beg ppl to share.

Another Option - Do PVP quests. Go haderus, and then beg ppl inv you to a Zerg group.

THAT is thw worst thing about ESO and probably a big reason why the game fail so much to keep new players.

The way they scale lowbi is just too bad to justify poeple to keep us. Even when I craft a full set of blues my DPS is so bad that most of the time I end beeing kicked and its kidna why I've quited the game the last time.

Since they can,t figure out a good scaling formular they should just not group lowby with lvl cap player I guess.

Prior to One Tamriel, you could not use the Group Finder until L10 or L15, so your not really at a level to be successful anyway, you lack the combat skills. It has nothing to do with Scaling, you just don't have anything to hit them with.

Really, you should avoid the Group Dungeons on your first character until you get to about L35 or better, and even then, only do them as part of a Guild, not a Pug or Group Finder set up. Alts that have Champ Points to use, you can do them at a lower level but even then, Guilds or Friends, not Pugs or Group Finder.

So, for now, just stick to the Solo Delves and Public Dungeons and Zone Quests.

Throw on some heavy armour a sword shield and tank those dungeons if low level, that's what I'm doing on my level 29 dps sorc only been kicked about twice in twenty.

I'm the queen of grinding :)

If you are on PC/NA look me up in a few hours @vamp.emily, I can show you a few places. With the witches brew, I think I can get you leveled every 10 to 15 minutes.
