There was a problem where it would download the game twice. Also if you verified files through steam it would re-download the whole game. I'd like to re-install through steam but I'm not dealing with having to download that much data twice if something occurs and I have to re-install, etc. Not everyone has fiber. Yes, I know even if you bought it on steam you don't need to use steam to play and can download the client through ESO website. I just want to use the steam features and have the game integrated through it.

Thanks.

Well, since I couldn't find an answer to my question anywhere on the internet I decided to give the new updated steam version a try. After downloading the initial game and running the launcher it only had a handful of minor updates to download. I would say around 2-3 gigs total, not positive but definitely under five. Which is much better than downloading the 56 gigs, then having to download an additional 40+ gigs of updates. So they have indeed fixed the steam version of the client. Better late than never I guess. Now I hope we can get some sweet sweet crown sales during steam sale events. :#
