Need your advice in character building

Hey everyone!

CP 100 Templar Nord here. This is my first character, I've created it just coz I like the Nord race and the Templar seemed to be an interesting class for me. Untill now I was mostly interested in exploring/questing part of the game and had alot of fun playing. Tried alot of self made builds, some of them were fine, others not. Yet atm I don't have a build/gear which can be called effective, especially in PvP/vet dungeons. It's more like random abilities and gear :(

I'm ready to try any good builds and I really wanna know your ideas! This thread is not about "play whatever you want, don't listen to anyone, just get fun". I did that already! ^^

Which build, in your opinion, would be effective in pvp/pve for a Nord Templar? Does such build even exist? I don't care if it's tank/dd/healer or a hybrid build, just anything that would work good.

Nord Templar, I'd say can be a decent tank with self heal, that's always a bonus to the group. Nord DPS not as effective.

Yeah, can be usefull, can be ok for PvP too.
I would always use DK for my Nord, but Templar is pretty strong imo.

    Nord Templar?

I'd say, put on that heavy nord chainmail, grab a large axe, put those muscles and nord stamina to use bashing heads, with a quick prayer to Kyne now and then to mend your scrapes...
Berserking and drinking mead would be optional, but encouraged from all I know of nords.

It would be more tanky then DPSish, but balanced enough to stand well in solo play or as offtank in groups (and you could always go for S&B on the second bar for full on tankyness... or bow for a ranged option, though templar has those nice javelins which also come in stamina as I recall... or dual-axes if you like the berserker shtick, templas gives you a class gap closer too after all...) I have an orc character very much like that, and the slow-but-steady approach works just fine!

Healer... well, that would mean magica templar, and nords will always be a tad less effective then some other race... still doable if your heart is set on it, though like mentioned, not the most effective way to utilize nord toughness.

Hate to say this as you sound like your chomping at the bit to do some more end game content, but you need to grind out another 60CPs before you worry too much about gear. I mean sure you can get some good gear now, but you will be replacing it probably before too long, or even complete the set.

Skills and Rotations on the other hand, that is something you can work on and hone and develop in the meantime which will only make the gear you use at CP160+ all that better.

See this thread for an idea of what I am saying. I have no idea if these skills are what you use or not, but, its the idea of using skills that synergise with each other and build off each other.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have a nord templar and I play as a tank.

Many people will tell you that nords are not the best combo for being tank templars. Meh, I don't care, I love nords.

Check Deltia's gaming website, he has a great guide for PVE templar tank. I follow it with my own personal variations and I'm having so much fun!

Edit to add: The build is called "Atlas"

    Fu... uhm... forget those people!
The important thing is that YOU have fun playing your character, not to be super-effective. Effective enough to get through all the content is enough. ;)

I have a Khajiit Magplar. Goes completely against the "Meta" but I love her and she pumps out some big ol' crits.

Moral of the story here, do what you want cause a Templar is free, you, are, a Templar.

My main is a High Elf Templar. He is CP 470. I have had a lot of success with his main build being 2-H Weapon and Heavy Armor with this setup:
Ultimate: Berserker Strike/Berserker Rage (the new weapon Ultimate)
    Alternate: Radial Sweep/Empowering Sweep
    1-Focused Charge/Explosive Charge
    2-Sun Fire/Reflective Light
    3-Puncturing Strikes/Biting Jabs
    4-Uppercut/Wrecking Blow
    5-Rushed Ceremony/Honor the Dead
I have Destructive Staff and Dual Wield builds. Of those two I prefer to Dual Wield especially since the toon is max'd in Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood and is a tremendous Thief/Assassin.
Builds and play styles differ and frankly I have found that no one is right. It is up to the player to decide. Experiment. I hate to tell you how many times I have resec'd him. Have fun and good/safe adventuring.
