Dungeon White tower damn difficult

I can not do that dungeon, is extremely difficult... I'm healer and I'm since days from party to party trying to do this dungeon complete...

Yesterday the last boss when he is almost finish goes in crazy mode and we had no chance and time to finish him with all the lightning bolts around.

Is there some tactic or I'm having bad luck with the groups I find?

My platform is PC EU.

Thanks for your help, this dungeon makes complete nervous.

    Hi teladoy,

White Gold Tower is challenging as hell, but a LOT OF FUN to complete, trust me.

I am on the same server as you. Message me in-game during the evenings and I'll try to put together a group for you to run it, maybe on a weekend?

Don't feel disheartened. It is a lot of fun, man, trust me

EDIT: Yes, the mechanics are specific and varied. It takes teamwork to complete.

Yeah, WGT is not a walk in the park, and vWGT or hard mode vWGT are even more demanding. When this is paired with ppl that shun boss mechanics, I see it can be more than a challenge, no matter how good you are as a healer. But I had less difficulty explaining the mechanics of Kena to new players than I had with Inhibitor, tbh.

As it stands, as long as your group has good DPS this dungeon is the easiest dungeon in the game now.

You can burst through each bossfight and completely ignore mechanics, which you can't do with base game dungeons anymore as they buffed the HP of everything significantly.

Granted, this dungeon is more mechanic heavy than the base game dungeons, so if your group DPS is below average you're gonna have a harder time.

Totally, and queuing for normal usually lands crap DPS, queuing vet have more chance of getting a decent dps. It's not hard but a long dungeon.

We mostly go in with not enough DPS and still it's one of the easier dungeons. I find Elden Hollow more difficult compared to vWGT.

It is still one of my favorite dungeons to do but it does get boring after a while. Respect to @Vaoh who solo'd it in veteran mode.

Most runs In vet wgt I usually am the healer in this so I'll tell you how I do it ,i run with 3 DPS generallly for this dungeon.
I swap out warhorn for barrier, then throw out barrier as he does the cross bars of lightning and I buff everyone with combat prayer untill I see spc blue arms on theDPS, then I beam kena, the DPS players will get the last bit down. This happens very fast before the barrier wears off as everyone's is on executes protected by barrier . Means I can't give the DPS warhorn but there good anyway ;) , it seems to be more effective with barrier for me anyway.

White Gold tower is not a difficult dungeon. It's by far the easiest of the DLC ones. But for some fights you need good group coordination.

    Adjudicator:
Pretty straight forward - just have the tank hold her in place and AoE the adds if needed. Cage is pretty easy to escape from, since it's only intermediate lock. Takes ~5s.

    The 3 DKs:
Just have the tank aggro the tank and DD away from the healer, and interrupt him when he channels. Kill tank first, next DD, healer last. Just roll out of their cinder storms and standards and the fight is fairly easy.

    Planar Inhibitor:
People should rotate fast on the pinion, close portals - ideally all before they spawn any adds. Cushing shock works great for magicka builds, poison injection for stamina, ideally weaving light attacks in between. In red phase hold the boss in one place, ideally right next to the pinion to rotate fast and avoid the DoTs from it. If the boss is held in one place it's far easier to DPS with AoE (elemental blockade, endless hail) and heal (healing springs, ritual) and buff (combat prayer). In blue phase walk the boss to the door first then have another grab the pin and bring her to the other end of the room. In this phase you should all stay ranged. When she falls to the ground and resets use ultimates (standard, meteor, solar prison etc.) to burn her fast. During this fight everybody must have self heals slotted - vigor and rally for stamina builds, various class skills for magicka. It really helps a lot.

    Molag Kena:
Have the tank hold the boss close to the center of the terrace, but keep an eye for storm atronachs. When they spawn focus on them and kill them ASAP because they explode and have a huge AoE if not killed in a few seconds, potentially wiping the group. When she shields stay about half way from center to the edge of the terrace. When you get hit by the lightning waves block. A self heal also helps avoid being killed if put of balance. When you see her jumping up move closer to center because you will be thrown back and possibly into the edge of the terrace, where the stationary lightning wall is - that's instant death. During the actual boss fight, when her shield is down, avoid the rotating lighting spokes. Easiest is to just roll trough them, counter their rotation because that's how you minimize your exposure. In the last phase there are two such walls so you should be extra careful. Having the tank or the healer run aggressive warhorn during this fight also helps a lot, since it gives 10% more stats to all players and the critical damage is boosted by a whooping 30% - most DD have a high critical chance and a lot of CP in either precise strikes (stamina builds) or elfborn (magicka builds). During the last phase you can swap horn for barrier or remembrance to be absolutely sure nobody dies.

Not even that. If people know the mechanics and stay alive you can have a pretty smooth if not very fast run. I usually run the dungeon as tank, but ran it a couple of times as DD with 2H/Bow and had no trouble clearing it in less than about 20 minutes with hard mode. And I'm pretty weak DD probably, both because 2H sucks compared to 2W and because I'm not that experienced in that role. Never actually measured my average DPS but alternating heavy attacks and wrecking blow with periodical endless hail, poison injection, carve and an empowered dawnbreaker from time to time probably does not amount to even 20K.

Wgt is a prety easy dungeon now after all those nerfs.
You can actually skip a lot of the mechanics with a high enough dps.
Just get in there with a good enough group and you wont believe how easy it is.

It's a challenging fight even after the nerf.

Harness magika is your friend. With that you can walk through the lightning walls without issue.

During the 2 phase kena is protected in the middle and sending out waves of the shock damage it is best to move between the waves as a shock for it placed on anyone caught. Makes the burn phase easier, but still doable either way.

Everyone needs good area awareness to avoid walls and notice/kill any atro that spawns.

    Besides that, practice.

That can pretty much be said about any dungeon. A lot of it could actually be ignored before One Tamriel because it was not one shot and the boss health was low enough that some of those mechanics never even had time to play out. A lot of "experienced" players were taken by surprise by them as a result.

lol if everyone would have that experience then you can complete any content with 5k dps too but high dps helps you to bypass some mechanics and reduces your chances to do mistakes people can get lucky and can get away with their mistakes couple times but when fight got long people starts to fail due to lack of experience and clumsyness and such stuff.

Nope. You can't complete any content because some of it has DPS checks build in. VICP has the flesh atronachs, that enrage after one minute and one shot everybody. VWGT has the daedroths that stack fire DoT on you and at some point you can't heal trough it if you can't kill them fast enough - some of those can be sneaked past, but others can't. I've seen a lot of DPS failure in both cases.

I would say vWGT is by far the easiest of the vet DLC dungeons (did it on hard mode for the first time ever the other day - wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected), but that still makes it significantly harder than most other vet dungeons in the game. If you've got a group who know the mechanics and are experienced with group dungeons in general you'll be able to get through it fine. Alternately, if you've got a group with massive DPS you'll be able to get through it fine.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't ever PUG it though, and frankly that goes for all of the DLC dungeons on vet mode. On non-vet, sure I'd be fine with doing them in a PUG.

TBH, hard mode in VWGT and VICP doesn not make nearly the same difference it does in VCoS and VRoM respectively. The latter are near impossible on hard mode. VCoS I only did twice, on first run, and a couple of months after that, with the same people. VRoM only once, also on 1st run, with the same crew as VCoS. For VRoM I can't even find groups because nobody wants to run that, even without the hard mode. Even VICP with 20K health (no food buff) is a cakewalk compared to those dungeons. So the difficulty gradient is pretty steep.

Yeah, I was actually surprised at how little difference hard mode for vWGT seemed to make. If I had known that it wasn't really a big spike in difficulty I would have tried it before.

I actually pugged this on my NB healer this weekend. When I started, the group had lost their healer, but they were still at the first boss. Lowest level was 14, I think the other was in the high 20s. I don't remember what the tank was, but they were also below 50.

After a false start on the first boss because I didn't have time to slot all my skills, we got her down and moved on. I tried to give them a quick summary as needed and explained the rift mechanic. Tank had to leave and was replaced shortly thereafter by another one in their 40. We wiped a couple of times at the Planar Inhibitor, but each time there was clear progress. I explained to them that as much as I explained things, it wasn't the same as experiencing it. It took a bit of time to get her down but we were able to get through most of the portals with minimal or no ads.

Kena was funny, since before I had time to start explaining, the tank hit the firewall and turned into a pile of ash. Twice. That was enough to let them know not to get to the edge or the platform. I gave them a quick rundown of the other mechanics and we took her down on the first try. Everybody was happy, even if it too longer than I had anticipated and I was a bit late for a guild event.
