Help with magblade

Was wondering if anybody who plays this class could shed some light on skills and gear to use please. I've got him upto 50 and have over the 160 cp but have never put much time into him to get to know the class. Thanks

PvE or PvP?

Schemering

assuming its for pve purposes: easy to obtain gear 5xjulianos or 5x twice born star, all divines. 3x arcane willpower jewels with spelldamage enchants. If you have no maeltrom staff make a sharpened torugs pact staff and a torugs head or shoulder (divines) and complete it with a molag kena shoulder or head. Use thief for julianos set and thief + shadow for tbs

If you have maelstrom destro staff preferrably sharpened use that on single target bar, 2 torugs pact swords sharpened on aoe bar and either 2 molag kena pieces or any other monster set with nice additive damage

make sure you use undaunted mettle passive by wearing 5 light armor one medium and one heave

i use following skills:

single target staff bar: inner light-merciless resolve-a cripple morph-elemental blockade-funnel-ulti=meteor or destro ulti

dual wield aoe bar: inner light-proxy detonation (alt:siphoning attacks/reapers mark)-impale-twisting path-sap essence ulti = veil of blades (alt soul harvest)

for "tanking" purposes you can make a torugs shield for second bar; it doesnt require other gear for magblade to keep the bosses on you (except in cradle vet) with a good healer backing you

See above, but since you've not mentioned your actual CP count I'd go with Skoria or Grothdarr over Kena since sustain is harder without proper weaving, group buffs and max CP.

If you're PvE like me and mostly solo content, I haven't done trials, I run the following. Strife should be your bread and butter for healing while doing damage. Grim Focus morphed to Merciless Resolve is nice since it procs the Kena. Drain Power into Sap Essense is a nice group heal with doing damage. Impale for the execution.

Thanks for replies. I should of said I'm mainly pve but every now and then I do like to spend a Saturday doing pvp, my current cp is 336

I tested it last night and my 2nd set up was much more powerful than the Spinner set up. My non crit Swallow Soul was doing 6800 vs 6500 with Spinner, granted my sword isn't Sharpened. Not sure how much difference that would make.
