How exactly does Necropotence work and can I still find gold jewelry?

I was wondering if I could have 5 pieces on a dual wield bar and switch to a staff and keep the bonus if the pet was still alive. This would be on a sorcerer.

Also, is it possible for gold jewelry to drop in Rivenspire or will I have to find it in guild stores now?

You will lose the bonus when you switch to the staff. Gold jewellery does not drop in Rivenspire, the best you can hope for is purple. It use to drop in trials and it may be available at the golden vendor.

I use hat, shoulder and jewellery to keep the bonus.

Sadly, gold jewelry for any overland set can be only acquired in guild stores, if old sets had jewelry to begin with, or at Golden trader that spawns once per week in Cyrodiil. And first of all, you would need to be lucky that Golden is selling the very rings/necklace you need, and then to have a huge amount of coin or AP to buy them. No matter how you look at it, we need jewelry crafting stations where we would be able to upgrade our purple overland rings/necklaces.

The difference between purple and gold on your total stats is negligible. Not worth waiting and paying for that. Purple is just fine.
