Estimated downtime?

ZOS can we get an estimated downtime since you failed to post it in the update and maintenance forums as well as on your twitter page.

It is ALWAYS generally around 4 - 6 hours of downtime for patch maintenance.

But every time someone asks, another hour is added.

There is a higher possibility that you will see ET than ETR on any Zos maintenance.

Well it would help if they properly put the information in the maintenance and patch forums. Can't blame the community if their community team is doing a poor job updating the forums like they are supposed to.

I think they are briefing us sometime during the day. I just hope we'll get to play today, which based on the past history of maintances is not granted. Fingers crossed!

Can't see the point in them putting an estimated down time in. As has been noted, we know it is 4-6 hours. This 'estimate' can very wildly, as we all know! Also, like all good star ship chief engineers, ZOS will OVER estimate the time so that we are all really, really grateful when the estimate of 10 hours is only 6!

Better be up today they have known about this issue for over a week and have really done nothing since but slack off. No excuse for doing a poor job.

I honestly hope it will be over 12 hours since it is more a rule than an exception with ZOS that if maintenance is under 12 hours something goes horribly wrong and we can't play the game rest of the day (like last Monday).

Whenever they give ETAs they always go over it anyway and people get more upset. Best just to say it'll be done when it's done.

I think both. Hotfix for the plunder skull achievement they broke and content updates I think.

4-8 hours actual patch downtime
sometimes 2 hours for unplanned maintenance later, when people log in and realize that:
- their characters are missing
- their progress is not saved
- game lags badly

As long as the hotfix for the plunder skulls goes in successfully...let them take a couple more minutes as necessary. I would rather have an additional hour of maintenance than have them not implement (and test) the hotfix correctly. As of now, I am kind of burned out on the skulls, but I sure would like to get a couple more toons the achievement...as technically they already have...but their skulls didn't count last week! :-/

Because every other MMO out there puts out an 'approximate' downtime window, and then if there are issues they tell you that its going to be extended for an 'approximate' amount of time.... you know, that thing called communication that ZoS seems to be unaware exists lol.

I actually hate those skulls now. Gotten every recipe like 30x, every motif 20x and both masks 3x without actually farming skulls. Just played the daily pledges and some additional farm runs. I can't even sell the gold recipes for 1K gold; I will lower that to 400 gold just to free up some space in my bank and guild stores. The only thing that I'm slightly enjoying right now is the XP boost, but even that's a bit wasted on me, since I've just hit CP720.

I was hoping to add an uplifting quote from the "Tamriel Lore of Maintenance" but it seems very hard to decipher this old text in modern day terms. The only common threads that seems to regularly crop up look to have some association with glue, sticky tape and string but then this may just be me misinterpreting this ancient and hallowed tome
