My 4 main characters on the other hand are spread across the 3 alliances and each of them is loyal to their faction.

There are two parts to this really.

First, the scripted story in which all alliances do unspeakable things to their perceived enemies and it's easy to get a powerful hate on for each, depending on the story line you play.

The Aldmeri Dominion, as seen from the Pact story line, was the most unspeakable for me. It had a lingering impact on me that was so disproportionate, considering that it was created by others, not by the players, that it embarrassed me. I found myself hunting ADs in Cyrodiil with a twisted passion that made no rational sense.

You can learn a lot about yourself in an online game. And many of these revelations are unpleasant.

Tonight I head into Cyrodiil with an AD guild on an AD character....*queue Monty Python*...I got better.

My heart will always remain with the Dunmers though.

I know how you feel. I played through DC early in the game's life and could not get past Emeric's incessant emo whining. Once I got to the beginning of the Hall of Heroes quest I was really hoping I could just walk away and leave him, you know.... * spoiler *

Honestly once you get past the PR spin youre spoon fed in the Alliance storylines. You start to see none of them have very good reasons for going into Cyrodiil. None of them espouse any sort of political reasons that would make you feel as if once they were Emperor(ess) they would make things better for Tamriel as a whole. How many of them share their plans for what they want to do once they ascend the throne?

The Altmer arent doing it because they want to set things right for all but because they want to return to the glory days of the Aldmer and Aylieds. But they cant even agree among themselves how to go about it. A large enough portion of the population doesnt feel the other two members of the alliance should be equal partners and were powerful enough to threaten Ayrenns claim to the throne. Even after defeat there are clear indications that it wouldnt take much for the Veiled Heritances return and victory over Ayrenn. The Bosmer are just following suit because the Altmer have quite a bit of political sway with the Bosmer. And the Imperials are putting quite a bit of military pressure on them to do anything to defend themselves. The Khajiit are one of two very alien races that would otherwise be on their own without the Altmer...They surely wouldnt be allying with the Bosmer without the Altmers involvement, even with similar circumstances involving the Imperials.

The Bretons and Redguards are in it because they are powerful enough and rich enough to throw their lot in for the throne. High Rock has a history of succeeding from the Empire, and not being loyal to the throne. Would Emeric and his heirs sitting the throne change this? Would they not find another reason to succeed again? The Redguards are noble warriors but off the top of your head. Can you think of any really noteworthy events in Tamriels history that revolved around the Redguards the way Tamrielic history has been impacted by other Men races and even Mer? Theyve always just been there but not really deeply involved like the Nords, Altmer and Imperials. And the Orcs are only in it because theyve been promised their ancestral lands returned to them. Whats the chances theyll stay committed to the cause once Orsinium is fully built and Wrothgar is no longer in a state of emergency because its a fledgeling nation? Why back the two races that has time and again sacked your homeland after you have gained what it is you signed up for?

The Ebonheart Pact is born out of necessity and will likely not survive the Three Banners War. The three races are all enemies of each other that have nothing in common culturally to bind them. In less than a generation when the impact of the Akavirii Invasion has begun to wane and will be no longer easily observed or remembered. Will the three races still be proud to proclaim "Blood for the Pact!"? The Nords will likely stick true to their convictions and continue to support the fight in Cyrodiil as they have a long history of doing so. But the Dunmer are just as dubious when it comes to loyalty as the Bretons. The Dunmer are too set in their ways, influenced by Daedra, to remain as they are in this Alliance. It weakens them culturally to do so. The Telvanni saw this and refused out right to join the Alliance and the Dres has recently shown signs of working to undermine the Alliance and their false gods. How long before the other houses begin to question their involvement? And the Argonians....The poor Argonians are canon fodder. Theyre simply there to fill the ranks. Just ask the tribe in Valenwood what happens when you dont ask how high when the EP tells you to jump. We all know very well how long the freedom of the Argonians will last.

None of them are my favorites because none of them seem to present a better future for Tamriel with them sitting the throne.

Nords, and the Dunmer are the two greatest races in my eyes. The Redguard, and Osmer are quite honorable as well. The rest I could care less about, and I despise the Altmer.

Every character I've done is with the Pact. If there are sides to choose, I'm the type of gamer that picks one and stays with it. I never think about changing sides unless it's for a very good reason.

I've put over 900 hours into Planetside 2, and every single hour of it has been spent in the New Conglomerate.

I do not play anything but Pact. I never even made other alliance char. My friend list is filled with ppl that also play only pact. If I ever notice anyone there on some other alliance char, I remove them from friend list. As a Nord, I cannot be anything else but a member of EP. I don't understand the people that play multiple alliances. I won't judge them, just don't understand them.
