Question about Masks

I have heard, but not been able to verify, that after the witches festival is over that the masks will go from being sellable/tradeable to being bound to your account so all those people hoarding masks to sell later will be SOL. Was told it was in some event or patch notes but at least so far I haven't been able to find that. Can anyone confirm or refute that?

I believe the masks come in a runebox that can be traded. Once opened though, they are bound.

AFAIK, until you open the box that you get, the box is tradeable, there is no time limit. Once open, it is bound to your account.

Also, once one character gets it, then all characters have access to the mask.

Yeah, all that has been said above were my impressions too but several people were commenting on people buying hoards of masks the other day and said "lol, don't you know those are gonna change to being bound when the event ends? It was in the event notes" but I have been unable to find that said in the notes for myself

I would imagine those same people have been doing exactly the same thing and want less competition of mass mask sellers after the event ends.

I really wish I'd bought the masks early, before

A. Everyone decided to horde them until the price skyrockets, and
B. I realized that the drop rate on these was set to "Screw You, Spatula! You Lose!"

I imagined the same myself. I haven't been "hoarding" them... just got 4 of the damn scarecrow but no pumpkin so traded one ut have a couple left to ponder what to do with. Was gonna give em to friends if I find out this is true and store them away if it's not.

I actually thought he same thing initially and then realized after I got the 100 skulls achievements on each character it dropped very soon after. Don't know if 100 skulls is a soft requirement to get masks or if it just increases your odds or if my case was just coincidence but on 3 characters in a row I got a mask within 10 skulls after going over 100.

All I see in the event notes is that the effects of the whistle end when the event ends so unless someone can link me proof I think I'm gonna call this "myth busted", lol

I don't believe that they would do that to you. That would be pointless if so, since you can't even delete them and/or put them in the guild banks or what not...(Even though it does say you can, my friend can't put her extra one in there for some reason..probably a bug.) I agree with Purple_magic, they're just saying that so they can lower sale price of the masks before event is over. There is no timer on the runebox, and expiration date on them either. It should still be the same "agreement" when the events over. You should still be able to trade them, sell em, give em away, whatever you feel like. This is the second post so far I seen asking about that.

On my 923 skull and literally no mask.. but I'm a low life and I don't work so I will try all day tomorrow and the next day and the next day. I haven't slept for 5 days. #onastreak

Lol, I agree with the points above and without anyone being able to point me to true ZOS initiated documentation saying that would happen I think we should still be able to move them after the first. Interesting thing is for whatever reason I cannot bank my masks... they sit on the characters that found them and can't be consolidated into the bank

Im on plunder skull 92, opened one of each mask and have a spare, also have a few of the yellow recipes. If I had more id probably mail them to my mule alt.
