ancient grace set
(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(3 items) Increase Maximum Magicka by 4%.
elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Grace+of+the+Ancients+Set

this is a very similar set to
3 piece set willpower

i tested these out and its seem wrong,

im sitting on a NB with 5x necro on body, 2x unduanted, and 3 ancient Grace jewerly , and 2 piece willpower weapon DW

with these set up
necro 7k max magicka
will power 1.5k max magicka
ancient grace 1k max magicka +
4% max magicka

with all these im sitting at 48.242k max magicka before necro 5th piece buff

so then i tested i left everything the same all skills the same and simply switch the ancient grace jewerly 3 piece

so the 2 bonuses that would drop would be 1k + 4% max magicka

so i swap the jewelry and put in 3 piece spinner jewelry
these set has 2-3 bonuses

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

which is a total of 2k max magicka

so the result was i ended up with 48.000k max magicka

5x necro
, 2x unduanted,
3 ancient Grace jewerly , 48.242k max magicka
2 piece willpower weapon DW

5x necro
, 2x unduanted,
spinner, 48.000k max magicka
2 piece willpower weapon DW

so the 4% is only giving me a total of 242 more max magicka then (3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka.

the only thing i can think of is the the 4% only adds the base amount before all other buff that NB have for siphoning skill line and inner light.

is these right i believe the 4% should give much more then this.

It uses only your base unbuffed Magicka without gear and passives.

Passives intentionally stack additive. So to see if there is any bug with that set, you need to either test it again without any passives and no cp or you need to calculate the value you get from cp and passives and see if it adds up correctly. But doing a rough calculation, your numbers don't seem to be too far off, assuming your tests were done with a reasonable setup (altmer, mage light, undaunted passive, max cp, siphoning skill)

well the buffs i had were inner light, unduanted passive, and siphoning skills, high elf

all i did was switch between the 2 sets.

with no jewelry on i was around 45k once i put on the ancient gear i went to 48.242k
same thing with the spinner once i put it on i went to 48.000k so that's 2 set bonus being added to exactly the same situation only difference is that the spinner give you 2 set bonuses of straight stats 967
the ancient grace set give you a second bonus of an 4% increase which seems to only be 1.209 which is not much

    especially when you around 45k+

It sounds like the 4% from the Ancient Grace set is not being applied correctly. I was playing around with your build in our Build Editor and although I was guessing at some of your stats I was getting:
    • With No Jewelry = 44.6k Magicka
    • With x3 Ancient Grace = 51.5k
    • With x3 Ancient Grace without 4% Bonus = 50k

If I could get more detailed information on your build I can investigate further and see if the 4% is being applied differently than other %factors or perhaps not being applied at all:
    • Mundus stone (along with Divines trait if you're using The Mage).
    • Food used
    • CPs applied in each tree (blue/red/green)
    • Exact Magicka values with and without the x3 jewelry
    • Skills on skill bar (specifically the number of Mages Guild skills as that affects magicka)
    • Level/Quality of items and enchants (I assumed CP160 gold for everything except the jewelry which is CP160 purple)

Or you can simply use the editor to create the build yourself and link it here. Part of the difficulty in creating this editor is verifying the exact effect of all sets when I only have access to a small number of them.

Bonus Note: As another poster mentioned, the 4% from the set is not being applied to the 45k Magicka value you see in your character sheet but to a base value you can only guess at if you happen to know the formula. In your case your base magicka should be around 31k which means the 4% by itself should get you around 1.2k magicka.
