Idea for change to sorc pets

Instead of them being a toggle ability that can only be killed and that have to be double bar'd, make both pets more like storm atro. What I mean by this is make them have a huge magicka cost (like 8k to 12k magicka) and still have an interruptable cast time but when you get them off in battle they have a big noticeable impact. This can be accomplished by giving them powerful attacks like curses, stuns, snares and make these pets like storm atro so they only last 20 to 30 secs but in that time they are either unkillable or have a ridiculous amount of health (45 to 60k)

How is this balanced? Well for starters the cost for it is really high and it's a cast time ability so if it gets bashed or interrupted by anything you wasted your magicka and got nothing for it. Secondly these summons might be unkillable or hard to kill for the duration but they can still be stunned or dissabled which they can't break out off. And finally you can still just dodge or move away from them since AI isn't the best at fighting people who hide behind walls, trees etc. anyways.

For this to be effective the current summons would have to be changed anyways since those 2 guys are very underwhelming and or completely rework their attacks and speed having to keep them in 2 bars is a huge crutch. By making them not a toggle then you wouldn't need to double bar them.

I don't know. I kinda like that they are toggles, this makes them very user unfriendly. So only good players can make them work. Sorcerers have the 3rd overload for this very reason, to compensate for our number of toggles.

But they should make them worth the space they require. Which is not the case right now.
1 pet requires 2-3 slots. And a pet is not as good as 3 single abilities.

I dont trust ZOS to implement a non-toggle summon in this game. so much can go wrong making pets extremely worthless. I like the summons as toggles as they stand. However, pet like the twilight tormentor and clanfear needs to be reworked in my opinion. The other two are fine. I would like to see a morph of the aoe atronach changed to something like no intial damage and just a 30 second summon that can move around. In addition, I think most pet sorcs would like a health boost and damage boost due to the constant upgrade of champion levels. If these changes are made I would be very happy.

I hate the way pets and magelight need to be taking up slots on both bars. Personally, I just don't think it's fun. Your idea is better.

Guild Wars 2 has a nice system with skills to summon pets. The 1st press summons the creature then you get an active skill in it's place that the pet can use.

You don't have to keep magelight on both bars anymore (or any of it's morphs, they changed it because the community kept complaining about it being a toggle so they made it a passive and it opened up tons of options.) I'm just asking for the same thing for summons and for bound aegis but I'll leave that discussion for another time.

    I keep reading that...

So I slotted innerlight back bar, switched to front bar...

My magicka went down and I lost crit rating... is it working as intended?

Wanna buff Pets? (Hehehe) Make it were their damage isn't reduced by battle spirit. That may be too much though...

Best thing I can think of to do with pets , is remove them and replace with a frost/fire skill line.

I may even go back to playing my sorc then, but this is just my opinion.

In my opinion, i think we should get rid of the storm calling tree and add necromancy.

Read the tooltip. The active effect (reveal) is only part of the skill. The max magicka and crit is a bonus for having it slotted.

My only problem with pets is that they do 0 damage, they have aggro priority over the tanks for some weird reason, they are ugly and they can't be controlled.

Why is it so hard to make them similar to NB?...

This is what I think they should do with Sorc pets as well.

Most toggles are barely comparable to a single ability, let alone 2 or 3.

One idea Ive heard is to make toggles remain active for 4 or 5 seconds after you flip before they deactivate. If you flip back, they would remain active.

Even better, they should change Familiar for Frost Atronach and Twilight for Flame Atronach.
