Guild Wars 2 has a nice system with skills to summon pets. The 1st press summons the creature then you get an active skill in it's place that the pet can use.

You don't have to keep magelight on both bars anymore (or any of it's morphs, they changed it because the community kept complaining about it being a toggle so they made it a passive and it opened up tons of options.) I'm just asking for the same thing for summons and for bound aegis but I'll leave that discussion for another time.

I keep reading that...
So I slotted innerlight back bar, switched to front bar...
My magicka went down and I lost crit rating... is it working as intended?
Wanna buff Pets? (Hehehe) Make it were their damage isn't reduced by battle spirit. That may be too much though...

Why is it so hard to make them similar to NB?...

This is what I think they should do with Sorc pets as well.
I don't know. I kinda like that they are toggles, this makes them very user unfriendly. So only good players can make them work. Sorcerers have the 3rd overload for this very reason, to compensate for our number of toggles.
But they should make them worth the space they require. Which is not the case right now.
1 pet requires 2-3 slots. And a pet is not as good as 3 single abilities.
Best thing I can think of to do with pets , is remove them and replace with a frost/fire skill line.
I may even go back to playing my sorc then, but this is just my opinion.
