worst case when they doing there fixes just do something else, play another game, read a book, go outside lol, better then sitting and waiting and looking at the screen till server comes back up

getting beyond a joke now, every maintenance, every patch since DB as had a further fix to fix problems with the previous fix it is now becoming a never ending cycle of repairs for repairs.

Ive not seen a game patch this much before. Weekly maintenance is one thing, that has to be done, but almost every time they do that, its a patch, then my launcher goes error 12 on me and I have to repair the entire thing -_- The launcher may be my machine end, but all of this patching is frustrating, @ZOS introduce a longer DLC cycle to fix your game, to drop the constant patching every week, I see more issues about bugs and lags than about the actual good in your game and there is a lot of good in this game

It was always interesting, when starting work at a new job at a game development studio, sitting down with their head of QA and asking the simple question, "What is quality and how do you assure it?"

I don't blame them for fumbling the first part. When people, even folks with advanced degrees, use the phrase, "Quality education," you know the word has lost its meaning and, clearly, they were not recipients of said education.

And if they don't assure it employing measures used by NASA - who have famously and infamously messed up - and software firms creating missile guidance programs, that's okay. If your game software crashes multiple humans clad in space suits won't be either incinerated or have long moments to ponder their imminent demise while plunging tens of thousands of feet to their deaths.

Few game development studios have an understanding of quality assurance. Wish they did, but they don't.

What I object to is the word, maintenance when it's not appropriate. If your auth server has crashed, for example, this means that your maintenance isn't working.

It would be like your local mechanic telling you, "Well, yeah, I know your car won't start, but we did perform maintenance on it."

Failure to tell it like it is adds unnecessary insult to an otherwise minor injury. Your game is down? Okay. It's an optional activity...fine. But do...not...lie to me. Please.

I have nothing against maintenance if it fixes major issues. However, with ZOS several hours of maintenance fixes minor issues and just causes more problems to stack up on the major issues that continue to plague the game. I fail to understand what their problem is. You would think with all the maintenance down time they create things would get better.
