How would you deal with a spammer?

So, I was traveling in Craglorn, when I encountered a level 22 player. He led me to a boss stage and asked me to duel. I agreed to duel with him and took my stance. When the duel began the level 22 player spammed the vampire move of soul suck. Due to this, it took an excruciatingly large quantity time to finish the duel, which triggered the boss to spawn, and destroy me while the level 22 fled like a coward. Due to me standing to fight and being killed by the boss, it stated that he won the duel. That is why I ask you, what would you do if you encountered a spammer?

Sounds like a l2p issue on your side. Not being able to kill a level 22 because he is using an interruptable skill is quite emberrasing.

You made the mistake to agreeing to a duel in a hostile area. Do not do that then judge yourself based on this situation. Just make better choices as to where you're going to fight. Also assume the guy you're fighting isn't honest.

We have rotations for smart opponents. People spam things for 3 reasons.

- it's fast
- they are not smart
- they are assuming their opponent is not smart

"It's fast" makes sense in some situations. If I need a few good shots at someone I might spam 4 javelins in the right circumstance. This is situation and skill level neutral.

"They are not smart" means that they are unaware of the drawbacks (counters and burning through resources) or don't care because their move is "cool". These people are your best friend and should be feasted upon in duels.

Meanwhile some very smart people spam abilities because they do not view you as a threat who is "smart" enough to adjust. Why should they waste their best moves on someone who can be defeated easily? If I can beat you with the same play every time in Madden why should I run any other play? The same logic applies here. If you are getting beat by someone using one move the problem is yours, not theirs.

Video Games are supposed to be fun. I wouldn't recommend tanking a monster while dueling a player. Sorry, he did win, because you accepted. In your options you can select not to accept duel requests. Dueling isnt a big deal anyways... dont get upset.

Just accept and let them kill you real quick while in your PvE prosperous gear so you can get back to grinding . Let them yell exposed and feel good about themselves . Then everyone is happy an no more bother .

It's just a duel. There is literally nothing to win or lose from a duel. Also, me personally, I don't care if someone spams, or if they use crazy complex rotations, or anything between. It doesn't bother me.

Dueling in hostile spots? bad idea in general although i often see plenty of duels spring up around dolmens while people wait for the anchor to drop. however, they do move a ways away. So next time make sure you are a little ways off and you should think before hand whether you want more to win the duel of engage the world boss if they occur. me? it would be the world boss if there is a crowd to win the battle since the world boss gives me stuff when it dies.

Spamming? Well, you know, people do that. The enemy is under no obligation to use only the abilities you want or in the frequency yo prefer. But if the fight is no fun you can just walk out. The duel is no risk, no loss, no meaning so you have nothing keeping you involved but your own choices. Would it have been any better if he had been in a hvy armor tanky set spawning heals? if its no fun, leave. if you know how to fight it, win.

Staying to fight world bosses while at risk if being killed due to whatever reason you died: again speaks to your decisions.

If you have decided you dont enjoy dueling with this player, remember his ID and next time say no.
if you have certain restrictions you want the other dueling parties to accept, discuss that before agreeing to the duel. But be advised they might have conditions for you too.

fret less over the other guy's choices that led to you being unhappy - because you cannot control them.
instead focus on YOUR decisions that led to you being unhappy because you control them.

Lvl doesnt mean a whole lot. He could have been a max CP character on a new toon. I had someone mock me for meing on my lvl 17 magDK in rawl one day. So I challenged him to a duel. lasted 9 seconds and he was ded.

Nothing more satisfying than being on a low level character and beating a max level player who is picking fights with other low level players assuming they are just going to get an easy win.

You should have realized you where being trolled by your location, specially upon move spam.

Your positioning could have made the other player pull boss agro and be in your..

Also you can break the stun to that so im assuming your not pvp experienced. He could have been spammed and stunned back and if your burst was good enough killed.

He used a legal tactic in spamming a skill, if you don't like that you need to find a counter or just accept it.

Same with beat em up games when people spam the same moves, some call it cheap, others accept it's gameplay as designed.

You are at fault for dueling in a place where things can south real quick. Next time, don't do it. Lol simple as that.

Go fight a Templar that just hits 1 button the whole time. No skill required but it's effective.

Take duels for what they are worth - nothing.

This game isn't balanced around 1v1 at all.

Most classes spam something the whole time like Templars. DKs will challenge you just to stand there and watch you forfeit cause you aren't going to kill them. Sorcs Shield stack through everything, and NBs cloak - fear and constantly CC you to death.

Dueling doesn't prove anything and is only fun if you accept the fact that no one wins when you duel in ESO.

Personally I value the duels just to see what works or not with my build as I'm more a PVE instead of PVP player.

In PVP areas you tend to die faster when you are being jumped on by multiple players, or when others help you to kill your opponent so doesn't give me the time to test my build.

But in duels you can feel more the weaknesses and strengths of your build as PVP.
