Add a "Entering Group Area" message when coming close to World Bosses

Just like you did on Craglorn, add a "Entering Group Area" message when coming close to a World Boss to let people know it cannot be soloed (in theory) anymore. Specially for the new players.

World bosses were always intended as group content and with all the players in zones these days they can ask for help in zone chat. It's pretty obvious after your first encounter with one as a lowbie that you are gonna need some friends to take it down :#

Not really needed, 1 attempt and 5 seconds will tell any new player it's not meant for soloing

Except most of them can be soloed if you have a good build and know the mechanics. The only one I've had trouble soloing is the Gargoyle in Rivenspire due to his amount of adds.

Honestly, I'd prefer that they spent their development time on PVP balance and content. It's been seriously neglected for a long time now.

Given the constant popup and noise when you come to one in Craglorn, and especially if you end up skirting the border without knowing it and it happens every 5 seconds, I'm against this purely for the sake of many players' sanity.

As has been pointed out, one attempt at a world boss and you quickly discover if it's soloable or not. No harm in discovering things by giving it a try unless some players just really need trigger warnings in a fantasy game.

I can still solo them though?

Honestly the fact it hp is likely near 2m should indicate it can't be light attacked to death.

Pretty sure it says "Group Boss" on the map, which should already indicate you need a group to kill it. It also has the red/orange indicators on either side of its health bar to tell you it's extremely difficult to solo.
How about we have an annoying NPC run up to you when you enter the zone "Hey, you, wait. This boss requires a group!". Then she follows you around like the one in Craglorn.

Actually there is a visual change that happens when you enter a world boss area - the default compass/direction thingo at the top of the screen turns into one giant health bar that says like 1,893,423 health.

I thought that was a pretty straight forward indication.

The "Entering Group Area" message in Craglorn is annoying. I hope this is not expanded.

    that would be nice.

but even a new player should first look how much health has a certain monster, before they try to fight it

I don't necessarily want that message popping up as it annoys me in Craglorn.

The boss brackets make it obvious that it's a group boss and the map icon

I agree with the premise in the OP, as the concept makes sense (they are group areas, just like in Craglorn, therefore it should say so), but only after they add a settings option to turn it off. Or at least make it less intrusive by turning it into a Minor announcement rather than a Major announcement (like the "Leaving Group Area" one).

exactly, that's the name of the addon I use to disable those messages in craglorn.

please don't add this. the big HP bar is indicator enough.

You can solo most of the bosses which defeats the frigging point of them being group content only. Not to mention the stupid way most of you think. :(

If I was facing a World boss by myself I expect difficulty but be able to clear it. If a friend comes along it gets easier and if another comes then its a push over.

You want difficulty in group? Then do a dungeon, trial, Dragonstar arena.

HELL craglorn has a plethora of group content there for free. World bosses need to be soloable so frigging deal with it.

Otherwise people will fight them once to clear them and move back to the easier one for loot drops.

Think before you post inane garbage like its an MMO when people clearly can come in and help kill a World boss in combat with another player like with delve.

Group bosses should technically be soloable, sure - just like anything else - but it should be very difficult. Group bosses are group content - clue's in the name ;)

Not like that, but I would certainly be in favor of adding a player limit instance to world bosses... just to put the crowd farmers in their own parallel universe

Seriously, though, a limit of like 6-8 player (players already grouped on arrival will be put in the same instance of course, the rest is random) per World Boss in their own instance would be actually a good implementation, I think.

Can't see the point.... There's a huge skull and crossbones on the map and the key says it's a world boss. If a new player wants to jump one solo, he or she will only do it once, it's called learning.

So no, can't see the point..

Except ZoS ( ya know, the people that actually make the game) want world bosses to be group content so I suggest you find a way to frigging deal with it. as you put it..

    Thanks
