Mag Sorc all round set-up

Hows this for an idea for a gear set-up that can easily switch from PvP to PvE just by changing the mundus stones from thief and shadow (PvE) to mage and atronach (PvP)(chosen the mage over apprentice purely due to shield scaling).

I know it is not best in slot or min/max standard but think it is a cool idea and a bit different to the norm and also the max magicka from this set would be phenomenal.

Head - kena
4 body & staves - twice born star
2 body & amulet - shadow dancer
2 rings - willpower
All divines with max magicka on armor magicka return on staves and spell dmg on jewellery.

Looks fine. No difference between Kena and the 4th piece of Shadow Dancer. There are also other sets that give the same 2, 3, 4 bonuses, like Elegant.

Front bar staff should probably have the Weapon Damage enchant, and back bar can have the absorb enchant.

@dpencil my bad was meant to be ilambris but had kena on the mind! But yeah other sets which give max magicka to the same effect would work. Good shout in the glyphs.
Do you think this would work in pvp and pve then?

I don't see why not. In PVP you really can try building more toward burst or sustain. Something like Seducer over TBS would probably give you more sustain. It's kind of up to you and your PVP play style.

You really want impen on your armor in PvP, unless you never have your shields down. Good luck on that, though.

There is no real "all round" setup for sorc, mainly because you can get away with much less recovery in pve. In pvp you really need to be able to do everything without running out of magicka. My pve setup has 44k magicka and 3.5k spell damage but only 800 magicka regen and no impen, and this would get me killed in pvp.

Have given up hope for any sort of all round stuff now lol but it is a pain in the ass having to completely swap skills over let alone swap gear.

Ikr. I've seriously considered leveling another sorc for pvp....

As for your setup. Pvp really needs sustain on resources. I have double sets of willpower. One with Health and regen other with arcane and spell dmg. I used to switch to a sustain engine guardian build. Pre T1 I could 1 v 5 and win. But I haven't pvpd anymore since

Get one of the addons that allows you to swap gear and skill sets. I don't know how I could play without it.

I've been using this build on my magsorc since DB: 5 aether, 5 elegance and a sharpened vma lightning (on main) and inferno (on back) staff. It is the most versatile build I ever used. you can do vma easily(530k score). I've done all vet trials except vmol(didn't have a group for it yet) with it, vDSA, and the regular dungeons are a breeze. It just melts everything. For some occasions, I now switch the elegant hat and shoulders for illambris for some occasions. You need 3 abilities for sufficient dps: blockade, liquid lightning and velocious curse. On top, you can slot a shield to never die at all. Might not be bis, but totally sufficient for DPS, just to name an affordable alternative.
Bars:
Main: Hardened/Empowered ward, liquid lightning, blockade, inner light, bound armor Ultimate: Shooting Star
Back: Surge, Frags, Velocious Curse, inner light, bound armor
Ultimate: Overload
The only changes I make for pvp is replacing Liquid Lightning by Daedric mines and Frags by streak. I win most of the duels I do with 0 impen, because the damage is crazy. And you have no sustain issues with 800 mag regen as heavy attacks are your major dmg source.

Plus, you can get elegance in impen now. Another set that is pretty cool is sergeants mail for pvp, gives additional heavy attack bonus, is heavy armor and will give you more survivability.

@Masel92 Sounds pretty cool dunno if it would fit my playstyle in pvp because I rarely heavy attack but my bars are prettu much the same as yours if you switch them round and sub overload for destro ulti

You can try it out, elegance is pretty cheap and you just have to get any five aether pieces. Of you don't have vma staves, you can use elegant or aether staves and use a one piece monster set, e.g. Kena.
