BiS PvP Weapons idea

I think it's time we get some new BiS PVP weapons, which are obtainable via actually participating in PvP.

First of all Maelstrom weapons should remain the best PVE weapons in game, but putting them in the solo content must be the worst idea ever. Why not make Maelstrom weapon drop also from vDSA (Instead of Master weps), so a player have some other option to get it by still doing challenging content.

So now the idea is that vDSA drops Maelstrom, Master weapons become new PvP BiS, after appropriate remake of course (or just create completely new set, doesn't matter). I would see those weapons as just slightly better in PvP than vMA ones, but much worse in PvE by implementing a damage bonus which works only against other players.

The cost of such weapons should be high. I think at LEAST 3 mln AP per 1h piece, and 5 mln per 2h. Also I think a trader selling them should be available only to people who first completed new achievement, which should include things like: keeps taken, resources taken, damage done/damage taken/healing done, siege damage done - this would encourage people to do some beneficial work for their alliances.

I think every PvP player would benefit from such idea. The top ones finally will have something to spend their hard earned AP on, and casuals will now have a goal, a visible one, which doesn't force them to chose, if they have limited time to play, between having fun pvping and helping their alliance or mindless farming vMA over and over - by the way monster helmet/shoulder farming is enough already for PvP players.

    Might be cool but I think your AP costs are a bit extreme when you consider you'll likely be at the mercy of RNG on traits. You could end up spending 40 million or more on a single weapon to get the right trait. Even a solid player would take probably 80 straight days of heavy PVP t o pull that off. I'd say 1 mil - 2 mil would be more reasonable.

    No, thank you. The fact that bis pve weapons are locked away in Maelstrom arena is bad enough for the game. We do not need this for pvp.

    The gear difference between a player who has been playing for a long time and a relatively new one should not be massive.

    It's been almost a year since we got the second set of weapons in the 1piece cycles (Master and Maelstrom). I would anticipate the third cycle soon--take a look at the third skill in each weapon line and you'll already know which will be good : P

    EDIT: Personally I think they should return to the model of having these be PvP leaderboard rewards, but keep a PvE route to obtaining them, too--so a piece for leaderboard, a piece for completing some particularly difficult PvE task--a two man arena, perhaps?

    EDIT: Personally I think they should return to the model of having these be PvP leaderboard rewards, but keep a PvE route to obtaining them, too--so a piece for leaderboard, a piece for completing some particularly difficult PvE task--a two man arena, perhaps?

    Actually now that you mention it, the third skill in each line are pretty much all great, although something that buffs dizzying swing and steel tornado is actually a terrifying thought.

    The idea was to buy weapon from vendor with a trait you want, no bs rng

    But it is massive anyway, the difference is new player can start pvp right away and slowly gather AP, but he cant jump into vMA without a gear, knowledge and skill, and that takes A LOT of time.

    Done properly, a Mwhatever destro staff that buffs force pulse could also go a long way towards upping magicka DPS, too.

    Poisons make them that much better, with poisons equipped you still get the passive stat boost so you get to run OP poisons and have a willpower/agility damage bonus on a 1 piece.

    I can see it now, crushing shock now interrupts 1 additional target and the aoe component of force pulse now hits 1 additional target.

    Yes Pvp specific sets are what this game needs, those that exclusively pve wont e affected by any pvp nerfs (see viper and tremor) forcing pvpers to pve for BiS gear, turns me off of the game for sure (cant speak for others) and can help get it back to a position that can be balanced
