ESO App?

One of the only things I really loved in Destiny was the ability to do the mundane in the app. Want to see what you currently have equipped or want to equip, open the app. Want to switch things in and out of various alt inventory into the bank, open the app. Interested in showing your friends what's going on in the game, updates, dev interviews, etc; open the app.

I know ZOS has some very important updates to finish with Update 13, but it would be amazing if this could be implemented. Even if it takes the form of using the PS4 second screen and the XBOX sharing between MS devices. However, I think that would be more coding intensive since they are different implementations on different platforms vs doing a separate server with an API interface that connects to an APP and transfers information between the actual servers and it.

def would love it if there was an app for the game ... at the least to be able to check inventory/gear for theory crafting and see ur stats... would be nice to also be able to train ur mount and do some trait researches as well

Being able to access and manage Guildstore from an APP would be insanely awesome.

Being able to access bank and transfer to and from Alt form an APP would be insanely awesome.

If people are able to easily log on to an app and do the mundane things then they are less likely to log on each night. If they don't log on then they start to question why they are paying for the account if they do. Less you log on less likely you are to spend money on crowns.

If it wasn't for the forced grindfest (lol I play an MMO and complain about grinding) in Destiny, I'd still be playing. The app actually made me log in more, because as soon as I was in it was game time. I could do all my inventory stuff and mundane things during random downtime when I wasn't home so it made it easy to just play.

When they kept raising the cap but no way to upgrade (looking at you ZOS for the future change that you haven't announced) I just couldn't regrind just to get the capped gear again.

Kinda sorta, its cool but I think these inconveniences are part of the MMO design

i'd mainly want an app specifically for mount training, mail checking, crown spending (i'm away for 2 weeks so i cant has nice things ) and friend chat

Yeah there would have to be some lock outs on what you can do if you log in because I can absolutely see the bugs and exploits given the environment.

I would love to be able to level my two last characters' riding skills and use guild store functions while away from my computer. I have so little time to play nowadays I spend more time on the forums on my phone than in the game.

And there is money to be made for ZOS. They can put the Crown Store in the companion app and people will be able to buy limited time stuff while they are away from their computer, resulting on more sales.

I would really love this. Just a question though, usually in many games that I've been a part of in the past the community has always taken great strides to find ways to create things for a game that it may lack.

Destiny community created very functional LFG websites and apps.

With ESO I know there is ESO fashion, but I haven't seen anything as far as apps go that are free and very functional. Why is this?

I just want to add that the companion app should be full of info about sets, and maps, books you've discovered, trait and motif management, crafting previews, maybe even dye previews to go with that, and all the tool tips and tutorials, achievements, and a tracker for the places you foun Ma'iq.

Pretty sure it's because of the PC Apps. Whereas Destiny is or was (I don't follow the game anymore) PS4 only, with all of those limitation, ESO was originally PC. As such, everyone went the mod route on the game.

I kinda wish ZoS would have a blessing system to allow PC apps that have been in place for awhile for to go into an add-on process. I think Bethesda is doing this on a different game. Would be awesome to have that carried forward with us at some poiont...

That's pretty damn helpful if you can't log into game.

I would love an app. It would be great if it could also show you when your bite timers are finished (have to use an external timer app for this), and same with research times. A basic overview like the character screen of all your characters would be great too!

EDIT: And definitely be able to check mail!!!! Its ridiculous that mail gets deleted after 3 days. What if you go on holiday? How are guild masters supposed to run a guild efficiently when things like that happen?

Nah 30 days is for mail WITH items attached. But if you get a mail with just text, it's gone in 3.

I would like an App. I really don't want to manipulate my character, but I would like to check mail, guild chat, etc.

I want to suggest that ZOS would probably not be developer of this. This would likely be farmed out to a mobile app team.

If we can convince them to include the ability to buy Crowns and spend them in the Crown Store, right from the app, it could bump it up in priority AND it is possible that at least part of the App would be working and relatively bug free when released! Of course, buying Crowns in ESO is an exercise that might have to go through Microsoft, Sony, or Steam, so maybe not that part.

Absolutely, I would hate for them to try and make something so far outside of their core competency.
