Just a little confused. The chokethorn helm drops where exactly? Elden Hollow I, Elden Hollow II or Elden Hollow Vet. Thank you

Afaik helms only drop from vet difficulty, but from final bosses in both I and II variants, although different helms. For example; the final boss from vet darkshade I drops the sentinel of rkugamz helm whereas the final boss of vet darkshade II drops good old engine guardian helm. Normal difficulty dungeons don't drop helms. I can't tell you if the helm you seek comes from I or II though, just that it needs to be vet difficulty. From what I can gather the I varients mostly drop the new helms and the II varients drop the old helms, I could be wrong though.

You question has been answered but I think the dungeons now work like this:

There is Elden Hollow I, Elden Hollow I Vet and Elden Hollow I Vet (hard mode). These are all the original normal Elden Hollow dungeon with varying levels of difficulty.

Then here is Elden Hollow II, Elden Hollow II Vet and Elden Hollow II Vet (Hard mode). These are all the old veteran Elden Hollow Vet dungeon in varying degrees of difficulty.

Correct. Elden Hollow 2 Vet Hard Mode is the same as the vet Elden Hollow pledge, burning the opus before fighting Bogdan. The old vet dungeons, now story 2, have the Hard Mode requirements as the same as they did to get the gold key before the update so for Darkshade 2 Vet Hard mode, kill the Engine Guardian without pulling any levers where as something like Vaults of Madness didn't have an existing vet mode so the hard mode is "Read the Scroll of Glory before the boss fight" on vet mode.

Vet Darkshade I has something to read before the final boss. Reading it puts the bosses hp up from 5.2m to 6.2m. The book says something about giving you something to really brag about. Is that the same as hard mode?

Doing the hard mode will get you two keys on the pledge and the monster helm so if you want to increase your chances at getting that shoulder you want, do hardmode
