Is being a Theif profitable?

If you max out legerdemain and Thieves guild, do people actually make good money from doing some type of steal farming? I've always looked at the mechanic as kind of gimmicky but was wondering if this actually profitable (in comparison with other money making methods, like grinding, of course).

It's a great way to make fast money to boost your gold grinding . I add an additional 10K on top of my 30K gold grinds per day .

Quickest way I know to pick up 5K to 10K in gold with little to no risk. You can get even more gold, taking more time, by just picking up Green and Blue items, or Purples if your lucky, but we are not that lucky.

Plus, its about the best way to find Motifs in this game as mob drops are not a reliable source.

My legerdemain and and thieves guild maxed you can fence/launder 280 items max in a day so if you fence/launder only green items 110*280=30800 gold per day and if you are lucky you get blues purples even gold ones and profit more

Yes. I wouldn't recommend only stealing as a grind way to make money. I thief while I am questing and run into a town or village, it's good supplemental income and I enjoy it. I also like to Murder as well, they can drop some good fencable loot as well.

Yes it can be.. once your maxed almost everything is 85% to 100% pickpocket chance.. and you find an area like Vuhkel guard near the bank that has a lot of unguarded npcs you can go through and fill up your bags pretty quick.. I tend to pickpocket them twice then blade of woe them to force them to respawn with new loot. You can get 10 to 17k gold in about 30mins to an hour easy... just make sure to trash any white loot.. as they are not worth selling. I only sell green quality or better.

If you find an area where the risk of being caught is minimal, thievery is a pretty good way to get money!

It's basically a free horse in 1-2 days, if you're just starting out.

ya but if you just after gold... then trash them.. other wise your profits will be lower.. unless you are planning to try to sell motifs

Just max perk where loot is worth more max pick pocketing and max fences now I only sell it if it's worth atleast 100 or more

Murdering people can make you 30 to 40k and a few gold tempers within 1 hour.
