While Console Waits, Let's Talk About What To Expect for 1T

Hi All:

I'm a console player who recently started playing PC too. I've been having a blast with more customizable text chat and add ons, I'm not going to lie, but I do miss my friends and guild familias from console at times. I've experienced the OneT update on PC, albeit, as a lowbie, and I thought I'd share some of my experience in hopes of generating conversation about what to expect and what to look out for.

Motifs - for those of you motif collectors like me, Update 12 will take a lot of work. There are three new motifs: Yokudan, Draugr, and Celestial. Yokudan drops from repeatable quests in Craglorn. They are scattered all over the zone. My recommendation is to start in Belkarth and begin the very first quest in the quest line in the main building there. It'll take you all around the zone, and, subsequently, you'll run into some of these repeatable quests in the process. Celestial has a 100 percent drop rate for the weekly trial reward. It can drop randomly as a reward from any trial. Getting your weekly out of the way quickly is a good idea. After all, I witnessed these motifs selling for absurd amount of gold during the first few hours/day. But they dropped really fast in the next couple of days. Draugr, on the other hand, was expensive and stayed expensive for a few more days. These motifs drop from the undaunted, fighters, and mages guild dailies located in the guilds and enclave in your major city. They're fetch quest-like, sending you to dolmen, delves, and public dungeons all over the world. You're limited to three chances per character per day, and the drop rate is really low, something like 5 percent probably. So be sure to do those at least every day if you don't want to blow all your gold on them so we can contribute to the collective supply of motifs. That said, some of you may use your alts to run them more than once per day. Good thinking, but it will be difficult without many wayshrines unlocked. Many of my alts skipped a lot of the overland quests and zones.

Undaunted Chests - All your keys will be converted into one key. There will now be three pledge-givers. Each of them can be done in the 'hard' mode by reading the scrolls, which grants you up to 6 keys per day/per character. You might want to plan ahead by thinking about which chest you want to open. The center one, which grants shoulders from the DLC dungeons (4 of them) has the smallest loot table: velidreth, kena, chudan, and whatever IC is. There's no intuitive way to know what chest drops what shoulders other than looking at the patch notes and searching for the piece you want. There's probably a spreadsheet out there somewhere. I just haven't found it yet.

New Gear Sets - Everything is going to appear camped out when 1T drops, especially zones that have the new hottest sets. Some of the overland sets I saw getting the most attention included: Spinner, Mother's Sorrow, Spriggan, and Sword-Singer. Start as early as you can, because the longer you wait, the more people will start to flood that zone. Dolmen have a predictable pattern to where you can literally travel from one to the next, without missing any or having to wait. You just have to learn the pattern. Following the crowd typically works. Grouping up with people is a nice change of pace, and you all can collectively keep track of dolmen and world boss spawns.

These are just a few of the things I learned from experiencing the OneT update. I can't wait to really enjoy it on console though, with friends, and actual CR 160+ characters. Feel free to add your own suggestions, ask questions, or share your ideas. What else is there to do while we wait for 1T other than to talk about 1T?
