Maelstrom Decisive Bow vs Random Sharpened Bow

Well today i got maelstrom bow with decisive trait. I tested my endless hail, poison injection and light attacks. Purple maelstrom's endless hail is better than legendary random sharpened, but light attacks and poison injection hits lower.

So which weapon should i use? I didnt make Maelstrom Weapon yellow because of trait and x8 Rosin. If its better than random legendary bow, i'll make it yellow untill i get sharpened one.

Thanks for answers.

Rosin is about the cheaperst gold temper in the game, altho personally i wouldnt goldify a decisive vma bow.

gonna guess you just started running VMA. Don't bank on getting any traits on specific weapons from there. Especially sharpened

Do a Bloodspawn Test with both bows and see which gives higher DPS on a simple rotation.

Well, i cant because i have to make it legendary before test and thats why i am asking :pensive:

Rosin is very cheap but i dont know if its worth. I dont want to just throw 50k gold if i wont use it.

Personally I think it'll depend on two factors:

    1. Do you run maelstrom enough to think you might get a sharpened bow soon? (Odds are about a 1/84 chance to get it btw)
    2. How much of your dps is endless hail and venom arrow responsible for individually on your current bow?

If your answer to 1 is anything short of "yes I plan to grind maelstrom for the weapons", then I'd say it's still worth considering. If venom arrow is a much larger contributer to damage than endless hail in your current rotation, I'd say stick with that one.

Currently, I'm using a gold precise bow on a stam sorc that doesn't use venom arrow. That way I have a stronger hail that is also more likely to crit. Dps wise, you're likely to be better off using the sharpened bow but there are circumstances where using an alternative trait is justifiable. Ultimately, it comes down to your own assessment of the value of using a maelstrom bow versus the value of the rosins you'd need.

i am using venom arrow and endless hail both. they are up all times.

i am not running that much, i just finished it 4th time. i want to make it like every 2 day.

i thought again, i can make 40k gold in 2 hours and rosin money wont be a problem.

only thing is dps, if i can get better dps with decisive maelstrom, i want to make it legendary.

getting sharpened is hard and i dont farm it much.

Maelstrom bow is pretty much as broken as the 1 handed weapons are. Once you star using it endless hail will be one of your top dps skills, top dps skill if there is any ad around. Usually you don't spend much time in your bow bar, so its not as big dps loss as in your main bar.

As long as you are running it as a back bar buff/DOT weapon, the trait is not terribly important. You should never be on your bow bar for more than a few seconds at a time. Once you swap to your front bar, you get the benefits of your front bar trait on your back bar dots that are ticking. If you plan to use it, I would make it gold.

Also, whenever I make something in a bad trait gold, it always seems to drop in a good trait shortly thereafter. Haha

If you are pve player use the bow as most of the time you will be on your dw bar, but you shouldn't golden it untill you get sharpened or presice.
