Plunderskulls not dropping?

Hi. I'm playing on PS4. I've just started the Witches Festival and I have drunk the brew, morphed into a skeleton, and am within the two hour window to farm plunderskulls. I've just killed three Delve bosses but got nothing? Am I doing something wrong?

Firstly you must make sure you get sufficient of a hit on the boss - which is hard yes when everyone else they do the same.

Secondly if on console the boss must be within 5 levels of yourself (until tomorrow ...)

Thirdly a skull will only drop once every 3 minutes no matter how many bosses you kill.

You need to fight bosses that are within 5 levels of your level, or else they wont drop anything.

There is a cool down timer on the skull drops, but you should get one right after log at least, assuming you do 3% damage.

I have done several dolmens today, most outside the 5 minute cool down we had this weekend, and I am getting Plunder Skulls rarely. So there is some issue.

Drop an ultimate on the bosses as soon as they appear, otherwise you'll struggle to get the 3% kill level in the two seconds before they melt.

And try to make sure your skeleton juice doesn't run out halfway through clearing a dolmen

What level of Delves are you running?

The Plunder Skulls follow the same Loot/Exp rules as everything else does.

So if you're running Delves that are more than +/- 5levels from your level, then you'll get nothing when the Boss is defeated.

If the Delve you are in is in your Alliance, then you're probably too high a level. Run Delves at/close to your character level, and you should start seeing Skulls dropping in the Boss loot.

Example: My characters are all in the Ebonheart Pact. Thus, Delves in the EP and DC are far too low a level to give me any loot in Boss loot. I have to go to the DLC areas or AD areas and farm Delve Bosses in those areas if I want Skulls, because those areas have enemies and Bosses at/close to +/- 5 levels of my characters. If you're DC, then you need to farm DLC areas and EP. If you're AD, you need to farm DLC and DC.

I hope I didn't confuse you more.

Gina, I'm on EU but as I've just read, I think its because I'm not within 5 levels of the boss.

You confused me!

Levels don't count anymore for XP... I'm EP and I get plunder skulls in Stonefalls with a CP max character.

If OP is on Console, then levels still "count" until tomorrow when One Tamriel goes live.

I'm on console, so I was answering in that context.

@Schizoid-man Just so you know, with One Tamriel (so.. tomorrow for you) that won't be a problem anymore since everything is scaled

So tonight be sure to find bosses within your level.. but after the One Tamriel patch.. you'll be able to go anywheres you want and get plunder skulls from bosses.

I love the Morrowind areas, and I've been wanting those to be relevant again for so long...

It seems that sometimes when one's buff has 12 minutes or less a skull won't drop. Right-clicking the buff and renewing it with the memento seems to correct this every time.
