Where is my new monster set as a magicka NB DD ?

Zenimax just missed the new magicka monster set for PvE magicka NB DDs for sure and will deliver it as soon as possible, won't they ?

Anything that adds over 900 magicka and that procs off any magical direct and dot damage will be gladly accepted.

Oh, and it should take effect on the target not around the player, you know...ranged combat and such things.

You can try the buffed Skoria, i heard it does good DPS now on Mageblade. But you are right...there is no new and usefull monsterset for PvE-Mageblades...sadly

what about Nerien'eth ?
Skoria isn't bad on a Dot build and even Molag Kena 2 pieces are good if you use syphoning attack (with Merciless resolve is good combo and 5 pieces clever alchemist )

Magicka NBs are the only class that can actually manage to keep uptime on Molag Kena and burn through all resources because Siphoning Attacks. How about you enjoy that? I know I do.

But why should you bring a NB for a melee spot if you can have a DK, templar or stam-DPS?

I agree OP. I've been scratching my head at this one for awhile now. Speaking strictly for pve dps, Nerien'eth still seems to be the better option. I'm still experimenting with it though. I don't think Skoria is a very good option because of our low DoT ratios, though we can certainly make a case for it with the use of Cripple, Path, DoT procs on Force Pulse, WoE, and Trap, but it still doesn't compare to other classes with Skoria. Grothdarr is a decent choice and, at least in my opinion, an experienced NB would be able to move in and out of melee range to accommodate it, but it's still not ideal.

Kena has been inferior to Nerien'eth for a few updates now. It's been awhile since I've done a dps test comparing the two, but the last time I did, Nerien'eth won out against Kena by more than 1k dps. Forgive me for not remembering the exact number, it's been awhile since I tested it; maybe it's worth looking at again now that we can get jewelry of everything.

I'm considering testing out combining Scathing and Mother's Sorrow (without a monster set) to see if the increased up-time on Scathing offsets/outpaces the dps of Nerien'eth. Another thought I had was to combine TBS with Scathing since it now comes in jewelry, and see how the presence of Thief + Shadow works with Scathing - a combo I've always wanted to try, but hasn't been possible until 1T.

Meh, I prefer to be free of Monster Sets if I can, stiffens creativity when theorycrafting.

I'm not saying that monster sets aren't nice but I hate how it's practically a requirement to be even remotely competitive.

Grothdarr is awesome for sap magicka nbs. Grothdarr procs on 10% direct damage and goes off when spaming funnel health and or sap essence. No other class is better at melting adds or trash mobs. Cast refreshing paths, sap essence, or funnel health and you can have grothdarr up every 10 seconds melting everything. Or if your a single target magicka nb you can use cripple, refreshing paths, structured entropy, lotus fan, and or agony and skoria will proc every 5 seconds.

Not sure what the issue is?

There's not such a thing like "AoE-NB" or "ST-NB", you have to do both. Grothdar is great for AoE, but ST-wise it's only usefull for melee-DPS. And why whould anyone bring a magicka-NB for a melee-spot? A templar or DK would be stronger on this position.

edith says, stam-DPS would also be better on a melee-spot.

Stamsorcs are the best aoe class, nothing a nb has compares to hurricane.

I can understand that. Before OT I was somewhat glad about the fact that there was no dependency on monster sets at least for some classes and you could freely build mostly around Julianos/TBS, Willpower and Aether/Moondancer as a magicka DD, with or without a Mahlstrom Staff.

...but as I play all 4 classes in a raid enviroment (vet Trials) and 4-man-content and I had ridiculous drop luck (2 x Grothdar divines, 1 x Ilambris divines since patch and the appropriate divine shoulders after using maybe 140 keys), I decided to use them and invest the maths to change my builds and now experienced the impact on my dps output as a magicka DK and Templar with Grothdarr and as a Sorc with Ilambris. It's remarkable for single target and almost devastating für AoE. Just my Sorc has a Mahlstrom staff. The older helm sets like Valkyn, Nerieneth and Kena aren't that bad too for a NB, but they can't egalize the power increase of the other classes with those new sets. Besides the usual "statmathic", the effects of those two sets are pure eye candy.

And at last...it's not just for balance, my NB is my "unofficial" main char and we all like shiny new things :-) Stamina Builds got Selene, Kra'gh and still have Velidreth.

...so I want my lollypop.
