Ps4 update size

Wondering how big the update tomorrow will be? Since theres no new areas im guessing it wont be too big,

These 5-10gb updates make me cry lol

The only time i hard wire my PS4 into my router is when downloading games and updating eso. Some of the file updates we've had for ESO have been ridiculous. I get some of the chunky ones have contained dlc, but many haven't in the past.

Yeah, when compared to pc its a joke, ive got slow net awaiting fibre, so anything over 5gb and ill be waiting a day lol, they need to come up with a better way, compress it like a zip file.

it depends for the greatest part on the PSN server , in my case also the 'preparing to download' screen lasts longer than the download itself certainly when a lot of people are downloading the same thing .

i wonder how long the downtime will be for this one before we can actually download

"preparing to download" is the part where the patcher verifies the already existing part of the download, the size shown is the total size of the game, not the patch size.
That being said I assume that the update will be rather large, considering the changes contained in 1T. The PC patch was 2.3 GB in total. The downtime will probably rather long, a lot of changes are required, I guess 6-8 hours at least.

If anyone could give me a heads up for the size I would be grateful Fibre is being installed in my village and should be up and running very soon, but the update comes first!

Considering there's an event going on I hope we get compensated by extending the event duration in case there's any downtime that lasts more than a few hours.

@Fallen_Ray Gina already mentioned that due to both PC and Console receiving patches during the event, that due to those things... the event would not be extended. The event is already pretty long, so they may have taken the maintenance downtimes into account when choosing how long to make the event.

There are a lot of people that could benefit from reading the TOS. It might eliminate at least a few of the compensation threads and posts.

So am i reading this correctly, due to the event, the event wouldn't be extended? That makes little sense. The way it's worded It makes it sound as if there could be an alternative. If there's no event, they would extend the event due to no patching. That being the alternative.

Hahaha. I reread mine and got confused too now. Anyways, pretty much Gina said tough luck - everyone is getting patches and downtime so no to extending the event.. but she said it nicer What I was attempting to say, if they may have already taken into account downtime/patches when choosing how long to make the event in the first place. Since it's such a lengthy event - patches etc. (this year and future years) are less detrimental than if they only made the event a week.

I meant the last ESO update I did took me 3 days to download my friend is on 99+ hours because she hasent updated it since brotherhood haha

Think thats bad, took me 4 days to download gta lmao, cant wait for fibre , they should do something for slow net users, like you could go to a game shop and they could put the official update on your usb, take it home and transfere to ps4, verify and install, i can dream i guess lol

I have found tethering my phone to my xbox usually goes faster than hard wiring to my modem due to the crap for Internet where I live. It runs up the data but oh well I very rarely get close to my limit.

Lol im in the uk , where i am fibre is being rolled out so by xmas should be able to order it, fibre is high speed internet basically
