Tempest island Loot drop

Ive been farming Tempest island for a few days now (since the start of the holiday event) and ive ran into an issue with the loot drops.
So far ive gotten all the items i needed ( 2 swords) and some armor peices. HOWEVER, the swords are both the same special loot item that happens to be from a certain mini boss. The items i need are shields and i havent seen a single drop for this either in my own loot or that of my group mates. Also it should be noted that the loot table keeps giving me staves. I dont know if the system gives them randomly or if it reads playstyles or something but I AM NOT A MAGE OR STAFF USER. My character (only character) is a templar tank and i think the system sees me as a healer as the majority of weapons i get are resto staff. I dont want a resto staff i dont want to use a resto staff so please STOP GIVING ME RESTO STAVES and give me the shield that has jolting arms set attached to is which is the set i want T-T

The system doesn't care. As a full time pve'er healer I get all sorts of impen heavy armour and axes and such.

I don't know if the tempest loot table is bugged and not giving shields though. To be honest it's still pretty early since the patch... And RNG is RNG...

ive seen a shield in fact i acutally did get it ..totally forgot BUT it was for a set that i didnt want so i gave it away

@bovardjeff_ESO it is completely random and does not take into account your build or what you have. This works since you can use it on any character.

Since you have received swords then the system is not just giving you staves.

I havent seen a single jolting arms shield after trying to farm for a few days, and only seen a single jolting piece in impen, which is kinda important if i wanna try this set out... got the sharpened sword tho, so thats a plus

@ninjaguyman Ya the sword is a specific item dropped from i believe the second boss of the dungeon. so while thats all fine and dandy it will only EVER have sharpened. which i acutally use defending on my weapons.

as it stands i would lose alot of armor and resistance and after looking i cant compensate for that much defence loss so easily. best bet would be reatribution of cp BUT i cant lose the cp for mage and put them into armor and spell resist

First, if you have decent CP you already have good damage resistance that does not show up on your character sheet. As long as the points are applied decent.

Second, I assume you are farming Jolting Arms. If you are that concerned about your overall damage resist there are much better sets. Especially if you are a DK or Templar since passives already give you some extra spell resist.

ah, i did not know, that the sword only came in sharpened. Now that drop doesn't feel so special anymore lol. Its unfortunate that you cant get the trait u want then, but sharpened is usually the go to pick on any build on your main bar. maybe on a back buff bar with not too many attack abilities i'd use a defending trait.

im a tank defending its best for me i dont need sharpened i just use cp for that

besides with the builds moving toward penetration its nice to have extra armor just in case

its not the resistance as it stands without it have more spell than physical its the bonus to bash that interested me. as using 2 shields (one on each bar) was my playstyle it would fit

an update on the jolting weapons... i picked up a defending jolting 1h axe. I forgot which run i got it on, but it was just sitting in my inventory lol. just thought u should know since u wanted defending trait.

also hope u found those shields, because i sure didnt lmao

Just yesterdaydropped 1jolting shield from the last boss,1st attempt.
I'm looking only for overwhelming here...
