Raise everythings HP = balance?

Sure, it wasn't that "balanced" to cut through mobs like butter and kill bosses within 40 seconds. But now it seems veen more unbalanced. All they did with update12 was increase everythings HP by millions mking fights much longer, still not harder.

    The problem is they cant.

    If they add status effects, it interferes with the 'action' part of the combat system. If they add mechanics, their usually very crude because of how many options each class has, and how much they need to account for.

    Even then, look at something like Velindreth. Their not good at designing mechanics. She'll do an attack you must block as a tank, then immediately rolldodge because she gives a armor shred and -the game does not tell you that at all-.

    I dont want this game made harder until the designers can do it right and the holy trinity is treated less like window dressing. That, and when they dont treat magicka tanks like the mutant stepchildren who will never compete.

    Yeah. I'm actually enjoying that.

    Also, I think some attacks don't hit as hard anymore, so you have more room to make mistakes and not wipe your group, which is also nice.

    It's an issue of time frame, budget and priorities. Yes, new and exciting mechanics would be interesting but scoop would have been too big. Personally I am fairly content with what they did.

    I healed a random dungeon today and I nearly fell asleep because of the low dps in the group due to low level or low cp, i'm not joking it must've been 20mins+ per boss

    At least they actually feel like bosses now, and you actually need to pay attention to mechanics.

    With power creep over the past few updates, I forgot what half of the bosses did since they were dead in literally 20-30 seconds.

    I hope they make a pass and adjust fights that they used an HP increase as a "hardmode" on final boss.

    Example: yesterday's Wayrest 1 pledge, running some guildies on new toons through. Subpar DPS, and the boss is just a big sponge. No real challenge, but just tedious. After 2-3 minutes you have all the animations down pat, and there really isn't a threat--but there's still 5 minutes left of the exact. same. boss. rotation.

    Instead of an HP sponge, you could have had a constant slow stream of those zombies spawning in that room to the side! Or make the bats reanimate as double-ghost bats when the boss reappears! Still wouldn't be a "difficult" fight necessarily, but would be more interesting.

    I don't like the concept of simply making fights longer instead of harder, there are far too many low damage damage dealers out there using group finder and it will make using group finder a real nightmare. On PS4 here, so patch out next week.

    I have recently had long drawn out (due to wipes) final boss battles in the past few days, Blackheart Haven and ICP, both normal mode (due to low damage DPS in the group) that we would not have even kept trying to complete if the bosses had 2 or 3 times the health. This does nothing to make the fight harder, more interesting or technically challenging, it simply becomes a bore fest.

    And if it simply means more mechanic rotations in the fight, without change, you get to a point where you can do it without thinking anyway. It'll be good bye to group finder for a lot of people and good luck to any inexperienced people trying to learn the dungeons.

    it's not as fun,more like a choir, to fight bosses with inflated health. In the time it takes to do one run,I could have done 2-3 and got what I came for,the treasure.

    When fight last longer you have to actually do the mechanics instead of just nuking the boss, you also need to better resource manage for longer fights and dps starts to drop the longer the fight goes

    I like that now we get to see mechanics that we used to just burn through but the tankyness of these bosses is just to much. They need to balance the pledge dungeons to the average pug group with cp ranging from 160 to 300.

    I think i'm too much of a nice person to do that to people, actually though I ended up leaving one dungeon yesterday which was banished cells ii where the boss spawns all the deadra adds, the dps couldn't kill them fast enough and in the end there was like 25 adds running around, it was kinda of funny.

    I kinda like the new increased hp bosses. Made me realise how many mechanics there are in the game that ive totally forgotten about. The ICP 2nd last boss was a little ridiculous with over 12mil health but they fixed that. So far nothing really seems all that out of what I would expect it to be. Bloodspawn had 5.2 mil health. Like I would expect an end game group with very average legit players to be pulling 20k dps per dps toon.

    So bloodspawn would take --> (5.2 mil / 40k ) = 130 seconds assuming your tank and healz do 0 dps. Very very legit expectations.

    There are some bosses that can use a wee little bit rebalancing. Especially the ones that occur in pairs. Like the BC 1 twins bosses. Think they had a total of 8-10 mil. Cant rmb exact number. They are ez but I think some below-average groups might have trouble with sustain.

    Then again, these are VET bosses. It isnt unreasonable to expect a group to be able to pull 20k dps for each dps toon to be able to clear it. If bosses are taking 5 mins ++ to kill its cos ur DPS are pulling well below 8k dps. It shouldnt be possible to clear a vet boss easily with that kind of numbers.

    I like the new dungeon bosses. They take longer, which allows us to see all the mechanics, but they are still doable. Yesterday we reached the final boss in direfrost keep pledge, but the other dps went offline. So, we decided to three-man it on vet HM. It took quite some time (like 5-10 minutes), but it was exciting and we managed. I never knew she could summon frost atronachs, that she had a really strong aoe and that she had that lifedrain beam. It was fun and I'm happy with the difficulty right now.

    At the very first day of 1T i was enjoining a new level of vet dungeons, however, now i changed my mind.
    Got yesterday direfrost on hardmode and... it was long, painfull, boring and no challenge at all. We were killing boss for clear 21 minutes. And with majority of the bosses it nearly the same (but not so long maybe) – you just killing it longer without any danger. Is it harder? not really.

    I know, majority would say L2P for dps, but usually I play with pugs as a heal

    PS – and another minus for 1T, IMO, now pure guys who are "not that awesome" or low cp are having now even less chances to get in the vet dungeon for sweet 2 daily keys

    Then they do it on normal and get one key. Seems fair to me.
