Console or the PC Decision

I'm not one to fully think things through some times...a lot of the time. When I first bought ESO I was in a Gamestop with a giftcard, saw it for Xbox One and decided then and there to get it plus a year of Gold time to play it. Since then I've been playing ESO on console since the Summer of '15. I have all four DLC content purchased, several Crown store cosmetic items like Mounts, Costumes, the Hair styles, and I have two Mains that I've built up, geared, and nearing the CP cap.

But I recently bought ESO on PC during a Steam Sale.

So the decision, my Computer is more than capable of the Recommended System Requirements and in the end I do prefer to play these types of games more often on the Computer, saving my Console for the Singleplayer titles like Mirror's Edge, Call of Duty, Halo ect. But because of ZOS' no transfers policy, if I chose to start playing on PC, it'd be completely from scratch. No DLC, new characters, not to mention the learning curve of using Keyboard controls in this type of fashion. People would just argue to play both versions, but I'd prefer to have a focus on just one, cause I know after a short while playing my first character on PC I'd get all homesick and switch back to my Console characters, then the PC ESO would get forgotten again. In this regard I tried to figure that my PC version was a sort of backup, in case something happened to my Disk or Console that made the game unplayable. But at the same time I'm envious of people saying how beautiful the game is on PC, how they get the major updates first, and how apparently they had little to no problem with Wrothgar while Console players suffered months of constant Crashing and Crash Loops.

So....let's just do a Pro's and Cons.

Console:

Pro's:
-Two level capped Mains
-Own all DLC
-Own several crown store items
-Easier/Learned controls
-Officer in a Guild
-Easier way to record video clips

Cons:
-Lesser graphical quality
-Console specific bugs and errors
-Requires $60 every year to keep playing online
-Lesser in-game options

PC:

Pro's:
-Better Graphical Quality
-Steam game, no need of Disk
-Online gaming is free
-3rd party Addons
-Better screenshots

Cons:
-Potential Computer specific bugs and errors
-Potentially long learning curve for keyboard controls
-No characters
-No DLC
-No crown store items
-Restart Motif gathering from scratch
-Transition would cost a LOT more money to reacquire everything.

It seems like there are many benefits of going over to the PC version, but the Cons however are just too heavy.

Hah, if only that made the decision so much simpler.

The real question is can you handle grinding all your CP/gear/trait research again?

PC. The bugs make it to console too and take longer to fix. The muscle memory curve will sort itself out while questing, especially if you already have experience with wasd in other pc games. I highly recommend an mmo mouse such as the razer naga; you get 12 buttons under your thumb, which is frankly too much (I only use 6 of them), but it allows you to only use your keyboard hand for wasd (movement). Having weapon swap next to all your skills under your dominant thumb is game changing. Better to make this change before you develop muscle memory for regular mouse and keyboard. The biggest deterrant for me would be the grind to catch up, but if you think you can deal with that then I think it should be fairly seamless for you. I'm persobally doubtful for the future of eso on console, but I have nothing solid to base that on so take with pinch of salt.

I'm in-between both worlds. I have a cp 680+ account on PS4 with all motifs learned and 9 trait crafting. I started on PC. In about 2+ weeks, I am just about to hit 6 traits and cr 150.

PC quality so much better with addons. The performance is better on PC... literally everything is better except for PvP being dominated by people using macros and cheat engines.

I wish I would have switched sooner...

Pvp isn't dominated by people using macros and cheat engine. Aside from that I agree and it's nice to see you're making good progress.

If your ever into end game PvP or leaderboards. Console is the only choice. ESO on PC is becoming known as the "hackers" game.

Cheat Engine and macros seem to ruin most PC games these days...

    Cheers!

All of this Cheat Engine stuff is nonsense at least on NA PC. There was a brief moment when everyone was using Cheat Engine but that problem was solved quickly.

From someone that played 1 year on pc and did the account copy and played a little over 1 year on xb1 ur not missing to much it really comes down to graphics and addons.

I would say stick with what you have the most time in. Only reason I switched to xb1 was bc the account copy if they never offered that I still be playing full time in pc. If anything use ur pc to play on the pts like I do to get a heads up on wat is going to happen on xb.

This is why they should do platform transfers for crowns. There's so many people like the OP, they'd make a ton of $$$.

Because this is such an obviously simple way to make a ton of money, I have to believe that the only reason they haven't done it yet is because they are bound by some contract with the console companies. They probably aren't allowed to offer this.
