Single player progression since update 12

SandraOwen
I do know I’m stuck in all of my solo characters and cannot progress forward and as I used to love the game and now think its boss monster level difficulty outrageous as i got killed by the thane in everfall flagon and the guy that holds the key to the prison quest over and over again and there is no real help for the areas unless you wish to wait two days for a person to come along. Both and possible more in coldhabour and other zones boss characters can kill you with just a two handed blade, a bit over the top for the confrontation and a damn lot of soul stones wasted. When you have three monsters or more than coming at you, there is no time to regenerate or anything, you also have no chance, over the top odds and lots of the skills are not working in all four of my classes.
I dont mind the proportional levelling concept but the bosses must be reduced to realistic levels for progression outcomes and the amount of enemies attacking should also be considered reducible.
A possible problem solve could be bosses difficulty level could be set to recognise a group and reduce for single player attacks.

The technical difficulties in the graphics are not being looked at and the technical issue with a quest tracker is not working and I feel ignored irrelevant and struggling and not able to progress in anything. I have loved the game but conditions for a single player are now not being considered relevant.

In fact how can anyone enjoy the new aspects when you can’t progress as the more popular single player just a thought? I hope you fix it but I don’t feel anyone is listening and my subscription is pending on the outcome.

Hi it is relatively impossible to progress through tamriel since the upgrade as the boss monster ratio difficulty is too high for a single player. I was wondering whether the single player been shelved to encourage groups. If so I am sad for me and all the other single player lovers of the tamriel adventure.

Groups only allow you to make more mistakes. Game is still fully playable solo and if you have problem something it usually mean you are doing something bad. World bosses were buffed though, but they were always designed for groups and solos (but were so easy everybody soloed them).

Check your equipment if its top level you can have.
Check your skills makes sense for what are you trying to do, not random things you put skill points into.
Learn to block, dodge, shield up properly.

I second the suggestion to look to your gear. If you are having bad luck on drops and quest rewards for your build, then ask someone in your guild(s) to craft you something. It wouldn't take too long to farm out some mats since the low level items don't take that many mats per item. If you already have the mats when you ask, it should be easier to get someone to craft for you.

If you plan on leveling multiple characters to try different builds of the classes, you might want to make a crafter. You don't have to get very far in trait research to unlock some decent sets for a leveling character, either. It only requires 2 traits researched for Ashen Grip pieces and 3 for Torug's Pact. If you have decent AoE damage, you can run with the 5 trait Vampire's Kiss and take groups of enemies, because you get a nice heal every time one of them dies.

The sorc I am currently leveling has all points into magicka, a full set of Vampire's Kiss, and 3 pieces of Torug's. Jewelry is just whatever I get that is an upgrade. The character is currently lvl 43, running with blue level 36 gear with blue enchants. It still shows 3 out of 4 stars in the character window. I have had no problems completing public dungeons, delves, or dolmens.

I think the current state of leveling makes crafted gear shine. Go get yourself some!

In reply to sodantokb16_ESO, actually it isnt the armour or equipment as I use all those and have been playing for two and a bit years using all crafting so no. It is the over buffed bosses that is the discrepency why dont you try being a single player up against these odds before you judge another. Your comments sodantokb16_ESO are nothing but assumption and arrogance to assume I did not know any of that I was just being honest about the single player odds are much harder than your group odds of which, if you were really paying attention is quite impossible now. Im venting that it is sad that ESO has chosen group concepts over single player when both could be accomodated for.

P.S. Kraynic I use the ashen grip pieces and focus on weponry and armour however I do appreciate your comments. Being Im a long time player I have been indulging in blacksmithing and provisioning and woodworking and alchemy etc but thankyou I do however like to be a single player in tamriel as its more fun to wander free, but thankyou again.

OK so, Since 1T hit i have played characters solo thru a number of delves and their delve bosses and a number of quests and their quest bosses. In the past there wasn't any noticeable difference between these and the everfull boss... neither of them were world boss levels.

After 1t these fights are it seems at best a little tougher. Mostly they play the same.

The last time i completed that specific quest tho was like one week before 1t so while i cannot comment on whether maybe somehow they decided to buff just that one quest boss for you... in general the idea that quest bosses are tons tougher and non-soloable is not true from what i experienced. The notion that there was an intent to take out soloing is also not one seen by me in the gameplay.

World bosses and other content originally intended for groups has seen upticks.

So, as a general rule, the gameplay you are describing is not consistent with what i am seeing, though again i have not experienced that one side-quest-boss since 1T but i have fought quite a few others.

It's a difficult one to answer until I fight this boss, however, I've not noticed much of a difficulty with quest bosses! They are I admit harder now than before, when half the time I wasn't even aware I was fighting a boss!

I would echo other advice regarding blocking dodging and maximising DPS.

But if you are talking about world Bosses, they should be incredibly difficult to solo, rather than the walk in the park they used to be.

I definitely can echo the OPs frustration. I have a great guild which is great for friendships but I do miss being able to solo things. I don't like the idea of being more or less forced to shove my character into a cookie cutter build because I like learning and trying things for myself. I find crafting frustrating because all the nodes scale and you can't get low level stuff without buying it.

I think this update while good ideas were implemented, ruined solo play
Feel free to add me. I'm part of the Gummy Guars PC/Mac NA server. Master crafter and working on getting 9 traits on everything

Very astute I agree with Meri20098 my sadness is that it is not us that is being listened to as they did a recent vote thing on the forum that suggests solo players are happy however that mabey because when at least 8 other friends I know tried to get on that voting post and leave a vote the system kept not recognising their legitimate account logins that was strange really, therefore we are not being noticed as the group play will eventually tire as you need others to commit to kill bosses and this will become unreliable so as single play is becoming un-achievable how long will it be before long time players will drift to other games and eventualy leave altogether when like me we truly were devoted and truly loved the game.
