I would like to see the support for these brought back, optimization took a nosedive when they forced the game to run on a system it wasn't ever designed for.

Especially the crap with forcing you to download Windows 10 with annoying pop ups. I have tried PlayOnLinux as it is called, but it seems like the CPU is sucked into a black hole when the launcher is downloading. Everything freezes up, but yet the CPU light is going nuts. If I could, I would completely get rid of microsoft...

The game would probably be unplayable without top end graphics card and cpu on DX9. Looking up here:

DirectX9 does not support multiple render targets (deferred rendering) or geometry shaders, which are critical for performance of lighting and particle rendering. Also DX9 is a 10+ year old API, they shouldn't even have supported it at all.
