Common soul gems - charging lvl24 weapon

I was trying today to charge lvl24 swords with Common Soul Gems (I had both Common and Grand gems in Inventory), but the charge option didn't let me use Common gems, only Grand. I read on item description for Common that it's "Used to fully charge weapons up to Level 39". So why I could not use it?

    Because the latest Patch has made any Soul Gems other than Grand useless. Sell them to an in game Vendor or a player who collects stuff.

    Now, Grand Soul Gems are the only ones that can charge a weapon or revive a player.

    Not sure why they eliminated the functionality completely for charging weapons, as even low end soul gems could charge a top end weapon enchantment.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Oh that's something new...

    Hard to understand that they completely changed the functionality of the item but at the same time forgot to update item's description, which now misinforms.

    If it's now a collectible only, it should be properly marked.

    Well this kinda sucks. I have all kinds of the lower ones saved up to use just for the purpose of charging my weapons. Now I can't, Thanks alot ZOS. :(

    It's quite silly now, I just picked an empty common soul game but found an empty grand soul gem in inventory ;).
