Ongoing problem to log into EU-server

So, after a whole lot of trouble logging into 'server-eu' today, I finally got in, played some hours, then logged out. Logged in again after a while, and it's the same mess.
The launcher says I somehow have both NA and EU server characters (I don't, EU only), and gives me a choice of NA or EU server. EU it is.
Server selected in-game is 'Server-EU' under PLAY. And I go straight to the trailer and character creation.

Just how did anything change between logging out and logging in 15mins later?? I did absolutely nothing whatsoever to the game/login in the meantime.

It happened the same thing to me, i played a bit after updating, i was on the EU server, closed the game, then when i logged back in tonight, i had the cinematic and character creation too.

I realised, the launcher is now set on US megaserver and i have no more the option to switch to EU in the launcher, brilliant!.

I successfully logged in now.
I've done abolutely nothing with the game or launcher. I spent some time in Neverwinter.

Nevertheless, had to go through 4 legal prompts to finish, which I haven't had since I installed the game.
Also had to select NA or EU from the launcher. So, it works now, but tbh, I'll be surprised if it works tomorrow..

Somehow launcher silently defaults to NA server even tho users have selected the EU one. The only workaround i've found is to select NA server in-game exit, start again and select EU. The game then logs you correctly.

Après avoir fait une réinstallation complete du jeu, je me retrouve sur le serveur Eu, chouette j'ai mes persos !

Bon je deco, je reco et la toujours impossible de me reconnecter au serveur Eu, j'ai beau cliquer sur serveur(live-Eu) rien....

De qui se moque t'on ???

I have this same problem. No matter how many times I click EU server it still says NA on the launcher.
When I´ve launched the game it says NA server in red under announcements. I chose EU AGAIN and it takes 1-2 minutes before it changes to EU server. I have to do this everytime upon login it seems.
Such hassle to login to a game. Please fix.

+1 This is the only serious issue that I came upon.

Same here, last night it was fine, but this time, even after selecting the EU server in the launcher, and at login checked again (still stated LIVE EU). Then it said it didn't recognise the computer, then went to cinematic trailer and new character creation Ugh!

EDIT : Yep at login screen it stated that I chose the LIVE EU Server, but in the Announcements below it says "Welcome to the NA Server"!

@Baradimb16_ESO Pareil, hier ca marchait sans problème, il y avais toujours NA sur le launcher mais il s'est quand même connecter sur le serveur EU comme j'avais choisi. Mais aujourd'hui j'ai fait exactement pareil mais il s'est quand même connecter sur NA! C'est chiant!

Yeah it's really a pain. You need to select the Live server (NA) and login with that, then when you're at the character selection/creation screen, press BACK, then select Live (EU) and log in again. You should (hopefully) have your EU account loaded.
It really needs sorting ASAP

Tried this but didn't work. At the login screen to the left it says SERVER (LIVE EU) And in Announcements below it says "Welcome to the NA Server". So even if I login to NA then log out, the only choices of server are LIVE or LIVE EU which is already selected. Should I choose LIVE instead of LIVE EU?

EDIT : I got it to work! Selected LIVE, logged in, then logged out and selected LIVE EU. I'm in! Thanks @Alucardo

Tu pourrais en profiter pour traduire pour nos amis francophones.

Si le login persiste à vous envoyer sur le serveur US, la marche à suivre est :

- choisir "live" - confirmer
- choisir à nouveau "live-eu" - confirmer
- se logger

(même si le message du jour concerne encore le serveur US, il y a de fortes chances que vous soyez envoyés sur le serveur EU).

Attention, pour certains la manoeuvre sera définitive, pour d'autres il faudra la refaire à chaque login.

I'm having the same problem, the launcher has NA as default and the option to change it from settings is gone now. If I launch the game and choose Live-Eu i still go to NA server and have to create a whole new character. FIX THIS ASAP ZOS, no one can play on EU server

Many people can play on EU server.
They just took the time to tinker around and find a solution.
That being said, ZOS should fix this mess ASAP, of course.

Many people can play on EU server.
They just took the time to tinker around and find a solution.
That being said, ZOS should fix this mess ASAP, of course.

Hello there...

You should first read the patch note which says clearly the Launcher is NO LONGER the way to chose your server. You chose this one from the connection game screen.

The bug you get is when you start the game, even you selected EU region before, you get the NA welcome message below the UserID/Password form showing up.

If you fill the connection information, you'll be connected to the NA server even if the game says LIVE-EU on the left side. The remedy is really simple:

• click on SERVER on the left
• select NA then confirm
• click on SERVER again
• select EU then confirm again as well

You'll still see the same MOTD but at least you'll connect correctly to the EU server.

Hope this will help you.

P.S. And please, stop tell you'll switch to another game when you know you won't :P This is a bit irritating but it's not game breaking at all. Just do this, they'll fix this eventually and enjoy Craglorn :P

Yesterday all worked perfectly fine.I log in eu server and all my characters were in.but surprise: today i cant log in EU.
No matter what i try is always NA( for which i dont care,i played just the time 2 create 2 characters 2 years ago).
i just want 2 log in eu server and play with my eu characters.i try all everything. and is not about 2-3 minutes because my annoucement didnt change after 30-40 minutes.is always NA:-(
Please someone fix this.

The announcement will stay the same whether or not you actually end up logging into eu or not. So long as you switch from LIve-EU to LIVE and then back to LIVE-EU it should work. You may have to wait a bit for it to load properly but that should do it.

Well... I'm not into ZOS bashing at all, and I'm pretty supportive of the game regardless of flaws, because I think it's a masterpiece of art and a miracle of technology.
But that's the game. We're talking launcher here. The launcher is a very basic piece of software. To screw it up like that is... just laughable. The least we can be is... a little bit fussy

If you leave the announcement saying NA then that is the server you log into. After selecting and accepting Live and then selecting and accepting Live - EU, you must wait a moment for the Announcement message to change to EU server, then you click on "Play" and log in to the EU server.

No I'm saying that even if the announcement still says NA I can still log into the EU server (once I've done the switch back) I don't have to wait for the message to change, in fact I have never actually seen it change.

EDIT: Just checked, it doesn't change to EU in the Announcements window no matter how long I wait, however I can see it change after I click Login a split-second before the loading screen starts.

It's not 'fussy' nor 'zos bashing' - it's a statement of fact: pre-patch there was nearly instantaneous access to eu-server, post-patch none. The in-game changes are trivial and superficial - "one-tamriel" is a wee makeover with graphical tweaks (not all good, incidentally) and disabling a conditional check for alliance for zone entry; the level-scaling code is already extant for dlc zones. The rest is hype and clever PR - which you have clearly bought in to. In my job if I screwed up like this - and repeatedly - no-one would be laughing, except at my rear-end as its was firmly and unceremoniously booted out of the door. This is incompetence and indicates a fairly huge disregard or ignorance of the simplest tennets of quality control and testing; in short someone at zos should have caught this game-killer before the patch was released.

The zos forum announcement 'workaround' while appreciated in principle is disengenuous in fact: several minutes rather duplicitously understates the real wait times. Equally, comments from zos are conspicuous in their absence in either of the threads I have seen on this issue. The patch - and therefore the problem - was released on 5/10/16. Two days later - well, still waitng several minutes.
