Class "Gandalf": fighting staff

The developers have a very original vision of the fantasy world. Why has no opportunity to play a character that uses magic and the staff as a hand weapon? this type of Gandalf, or the Eastern occult magician - traveler.
I do not really like the giant swords, with the size of the growth of the character. It's some sort of hallucination addict. I think the game should be real. For a better immersion in reality.

At the begining, destruction reach and clench had a closer range (reach was like 15 mts and clench like 7 mts). During that time I theory crafted a nb using full heavy + lotus fan + CW and destro clench as combo.

Yup, it was more of a mele staff wielder. Then the skill was given a greater range.

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time

On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

You are at 5-7 meters from the enemy, and he takes you with a the sword(((
This is unrealistic, and it's annoying.
All these super heroes, winning with two-handed sword, being in a small room or a cave.
That's why I started playing, using the sword and shield.

I don't think there's immersion problems within the game. 2h weapons are not as big as Dragonslayer sword from Berserk (though I wish a crafting style giving something similar to that). They are more of a standard-katana size.

Katana? What a trash from mass culture. I am not a Uma Turman.

The problem with 2h in a immersive sense is that it just magically connects to your back with no straps or holster or anything really visible to explain why it's stuck to your back.

As for a Gandalf style magic build, magic melee NB does that quite well with Concealed Weapon and Lotus Fan.

    Look at the sizes

edit: Katanas, Dai-Katanas, Wakizashis and Tantos are lore wise in Elder Scrolls (Akaviri swords)

I really wish there was some sort of staff animation that would involve hitting someone if they got with melee range (that looks different than bash) -- especially if it involves hitting them upside the head. I hate carrying around a huge stick that i can't hit people with.

Now we see, in game, a very primitive battle technics with swords and other weapons. For two-handed weapons, You can hit side kick with panache, only. It's sad!
    I'm not against exotic swords.
I would advise to developers of game to spend their time and money not to add any embellishments (just glamour and Gothic for girls) and paid content, in game.
We need conceiving animation quality battle, interesting martial techniques and tricks, various magic as the Baldur's Gate, and an increase of game locations, with a beautiful natural world (reality).
Of course, the most important thing is the quality and depth of a quests scenarios .

I must admit, that last update of game is improve the appearance of weapons. I now play with a two-handed pole axe, because it looks like real weapon in real life.
In particular, it is no longer the size of a human.

I do agree somewhat, though more on the scale of most weapons. Many one handed swords in-game look much more suited for being held by both hands, so seeing them dual wielded looks uncomfortable, like it would take great muscle strength to properly use a sword with one hand. And the two handed swords are monstrous. If the game were real then no female character would be able to properly use a 2handed weapon unless they were the burliest of Nords or Orcs.
