Problem with craft node scaling.

According to Natch Potes:
All harvest nodes now scale to your combat level or applicable crafting passive rank.

However this does not appear to be the case. On my level 27 character in Reaper's March I am finding iron ore nodes. I should be getting the nodes for Steel (True Iron?) or Dwarven I believe at that combat level.

So, do the nodes scale to combat level or applicable crafting passive, whichever is LOWEST?

Or is it random whether they scale to combat level OR crafting level, meaning sometimes you find either?

If so it should probably clarify that in the Potes. :D

I noticed this issue with scaling when I was on my CP157 non crafting alt. He stepped outside and there was nothing but Iron ore. I then swapped to my CP157 max crafting alt and went out to find all Rubedite.

If this is how the "Scaling" works than it means the end of alts farming mats. I HOPE this is a bug and not working as intended.

According to the patch notes, that's correct. The war on crafters continues, though I have no idea why Zenimax hate us so much.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

It's random. So on a character that is level 50 CP160 with no points into crafting will see rubedite and iron ore. Random.

That's the way it worked in the scaled DLC zones, so I would assume that's the way it's now supposed to work everywhere. I didn't check that on PTS though, because most of my characters are max-level and max-crafting-level.

The scaling definitely seems to be based on crafting level rather than combat level. I am still only seeing iron/jute on my non crafter characters.

EDIT: Just came across some Rubedite. Turns out I was just having a bad string of RNG. So I suppose random it is.

It should be a mix of two levels of mats, the type that matches your character level and the type that matches your crafting passive level (like MissBizz explained). If you're only seeing one level (and your crafting level doesn't match your character level), that indicates that something is wrong.
