Refund for name/race change token? ....name and all it's variations unavailable

With name change tokens being so stupidly expensive, why don't we have a database of used names so we can verify if the name we want is available? At $20 for a name change token, we should either get the name we want, or get a refund.

Any chance ZOS will respond?

Well that really sucks. I doubt you can get the money back.

For the future, you can create new character with the name you want in order to confirm the name is avaliable and delete that character when you have bought token and are ready to change the name. The token is not supposed to be something you buy once a month. It is for players who regret their choice of name and rather pay for extra services than create a new character.

Great idea Sinolai....and it would work....if I didn't have 12 toons......

Point being, we need a database of used names, or the ability to turn in tokens in for refunds.

Just yesterday i was having problems with this lol


I created a toon, named him when i first started like 6 months ago simply to hold the name i wanted. He was wrong class, so i deleted him, but couldnt use that name as game was giving me an error.

I contacted Z0$ support and literally 1 day and its sorted out, i was truly amazed.


Why don't you simply contact them and ask them? 5 mins on a ticket is the same as 5 mins searching a database of names surely?.

You can try adding the name you want to your ignore list. If it says account not found, then the name is probably free. You could also try adding it to your friends list, but I prefer a less intrusive way. Blind friend invites are annoying, even though that person and I do have the same taste in names

Hey, guess what guys. I filled out a help ticket yesterday, and today I got my refund.

ZOS came through for me and gave me exactly the refund I was wanting. I originally thought that my issue was so trivial that I shouldn't waste their time, but I'm glad I did. The help lady was very polite and obviously very prompt.

Haha I'd love to see that list, I'm sure there are some creative people out there. Seriously though, that'll never happen.

Simple solution for me, the name I wanted was taken. So, at the beginning and end I put a mark.

Ex: l Helios Hyperion l

I got lucky and at launch created and named 8 characters and just held onto them until I wanted to use them. Then I delete the dummy toon and create the proper one, name it and roll on.

After the game is 30 days or so old, naming gets harder and harder.

I agree. maybe another easy to implement idea would be to make it so you can pick a name first and reserve it, even for like an hour before you actually pay for the change token. It kind of makes far more sense to know what your paying for and that you will actually get what you're paying for.
