New Dailies: Please help me understand

So do I understand this right? Under the changes coming, if I want Valkyn Skoria Shoulders, I have to wait until a specific NPC (Gilirion the Redbeard) is handing out City of Ash?

No.

You get generic undaunted keys for completing any of the pledges (how many you get depends on whether you do the dungeon on vet difficulty and activate hard mode). It doesn't matter which pledge giver gave you the key or what pledge you did to get it. All of the keys are exactly the same.

You then pick which of the chests you want to open with they keys. Each chest has a specific subset of dungeons for which that chest will drop shoulders.

So you gather as many keys as you want from as many different pledge-givers as you want, and then if you're looking for one specific shoulder, you use all of those keys on the chest that can drop that shoulder. If you're looking for a Skoria shoulder, you just spend your keys opening the chest that can drop it.

(I saw the one with the images of the sets, but that did not help me at all, as I do not know how each of the set looks)

The list is in the PTS patch notes. I wouldn't rely on it 100% for live though, just in case they change things. The patch notes when One Tamriel hits tomorrow should have the definitive list.

Thanks! But the chest would have to relate to the NPC that City of Ash is listed under (in patch notes)?

And it would still be random whether you got it or not because more than one set can drop from a particular chest?

What about the silver/gold keys I already have in my inventory, when 1T will hit (I'm on console)?

They'll all be converted 1:1 to the new undaunted keys. So don't bother farming gold keys unless you just want to do the vet dungeons on hard-mode (which is what a group of us did last night - we could have just gone for a silver key but why not read the book and go for gold? Staying in practice never hurts). Silver keys or even bronze keys are worth the same as gold keys when the conversion happens.
