just created a stam DK Imp...tryin to get him his ww prior to going into cyrodiil...

tried the quest at level 5 (i'm at cp370), no luck (got the snake, then troll)...will keep going back for the mammoth...

the issue seems to be weapon damage (it's really low)...was gonna craft him hunding's and night mother's to give his weapon damage a bit of a boost - but, was trying to avoid crafting a set of level 6 armor just for the quest, plus - i'm not really sure how much it'll help...

activated the warrior stone...any suggeations?

read somewhere that someone completed the quest at level 3 and I'm so jealous (finished it at level 8 with another character)...

I did it at level 4 with crafted gear and no CP. I don't remember what specifically I was using, but I'm pretty sure it was 5-piece Hundings and 4-piece Night Mother's (with dual wield). I don't remember what mundus I had, but I definitely had food that boosted my health (I'm sure it was green because I'm 90% sure there's no blue food that a level 4 can use). I got the snake, and boy was it frustrating with the chance to miss when you're trying to interrupt the snake's self-heal... I seem to recall burning through a whole bunch of potions to stay alive long enough to eventually get the kill.

Sometimes it's fun to see how low level you can be and still complete something... That's the only reason I did the quest on a level 4. Just to see if I could do it.

I'm level 31 with that character and still waiting for all those awesome vamp perks to kick in...oh well...

If you can wait a few days One Tamriel will be released and then you'll automatically be scaled up. It won't be as easy as doing it on a real level 50 character, but it should be easier than doing it on a low level character is now. At least you shouldn't need to craft gear especially for it.

Hmm, will you be scaled up? Overland you would be, but the WW quest is a solo instance, and I don't know if they're making any changes to how solo instances work. I didn't think to check on PTS...

I haven't checked the WW one specifically but the main story is scaled up (and therefore can be played straight through with no need to level up first).

I assume since everything else is scaled up this will be too. It would be strange to keep one little bit level dependent.

Is it scaled up, or scaled to your level? It always used to be scaled to your level, but you wouldn't get each subsequent quest until you were the minimum level.

If they scaled the main story quest up rather than just making it available regardless of your level, then I'm sure you're right and they would have done the same thing with the WW and vampire quests.

If you die a few times, the boss' health (max hp) will scale down a bit. My brother did it at lvl 5 or 6 with crafted gear, pots, food, etc. He found out about the boss hp after his first death, but it'll only go down so much, I think after his third death it was as low as it would drop.

yikes, level 6 - that couldn't have been too easy (did you have access to the blade of woe?)...

for PvP I'm big on regen stats...my vamp's level 6 now and i'm stuck with around a 400 health regen buffed (he's a dk so I'm spamming green blood and vigor constantly)...can't wait to reach level 7 to start getting some help with damage mitigation...

just received hircine's generous gift...I geared up (hunding's, nmg, health glyphs, poison glyphs, sips of health) - got the mammoth (basically you just need to play a little game of matador), it took about 3 minutes, maybe 5...

ugh!!! I wish I had just broken down and geared up (plus remembered to use potions) when I was level 3 or 4...oh man...that's a lost moment :)

it was funny, I picked up his gear in hew's bane...when I went to check my stats after I equipped everything it read 2.5k weapon damage - my first thought was, oh yeah I'm gonna kill that creature in about 1 shot...my second thought was - shoot, I'm in a scaled area...

    thanks for everyone's help...

oh yeah - to all my pvp buddies - geo's imp will be appearing on your death recap screen real soon...I'll be the one hitting you for about 200 damage with my rock throwing thingy move...he's coming - be afraid >:)

No blade of woe and around 70 CP at the time. I used my mag sorc and half my attacks missed but I was determined to get it done that early because vampirism takes forever to level.

Does blade of woe even work on the targets? If so then that would make that a cakewalk.

@Vigarr ...I would imagine the "blade" would work there...I'm laughing to myself now just imagining you wacking away like crazy with your level 6 character (doing a whopping 100 points of damage) on those level 38 characters...

man, that must have been a heck of a fight there...

The real problem with a low-level character doing a quest with much higher-level enemies isn't so much how little damage each attack does... It's how often attacks automatically miss :#

But that should be a thing of the past as soon as One Tamriel hits.

Here's an odd tip: go to a scaled zone (cyrodiil, wrothgahr, etc.) and eat food. THEN go try the quest. You get the scaled food buff for the duration.

You all seem to have missed this one. This is the best advice in this thread. Do this and you will not have any problem.

I saw this, you're right - it gives your character a huge advantage moving from a scaled zone with a food/drink boost back into one of the regular zones...

that's definitely some out of the box thinking...

if i had it to do over - I'd definitely utilize this tip...

Edit: oh yeah - as far as best piece of advice in the thread:

ha it wasn't far from what you imagined...only difference is I was zapping, not whacking :p

It's as UrQuan said, the problem isn't the damage, it's the attacks missing like Morrowind.

Except that if the character is under level 10, you aren't going to Cyrodiil.

Unless they've changed that. I never got the "official invitation" in in-game mail until I hit level 10. He said he was level 5-6.

okay...I lied...not my last post on this thread...

he's level 8 now, he'll be in cyro in another day or two ( I need to stll pick him up some jewelry, I'll gear him in level 10 willows path and night mother's gaze, grab some drinks from the cyro vendor)...

the funny thing is - i know the character will more than hold his own in pvp (shoot, with his cp, gear and the pvp combat scaling system he'll be running folks down)...the problem is his mount will only have a riding speed of 5 and 0 for stamina...

ugh, I guess I'll be walking everywhere...he's DC, so maybe it won't be so bad if a just stay between Aleswell and Chalman...
