My current build

i5 6600k @ 4.5 GHZ
16 GB DDR4/2666 MHZ
2 TB SSD (2, 1 TB 850 Evo)
R9 390X - (watercooled)

I'm currently gaming @ 2560 x 1440.

I'm looking at the 980 Ti since I feel it would be the best bang for my buck. I need something that can give consistent 60 fps everywhere.

60fps? hell I`m running 60-100 FPS anywhere with as low as a 750 ti.... you won`t any issues with the 980

You'd be much better off with a GTX 1070 for the price. It's usually neck and neck performance-wise with the 980 Ti (if not faster in some cases) and is about $100-200 cheaper depending on the model. The 1070 is seriously one of the best cards on the market for price/performance.

I have a Titan X Pascal and in heavily populated areas I drop below 60 fps (4k). This is not a GPU limitation though.

Stick with what you have, it won't be worth your dollars.

If you insist on upgrading then buy another 390x and Crossfire it...AMD CrossfireX just kicks tail at 1440p and higher...the scaling is amazing in games that support it (most do)

If Crossfire isn't an option for you, then just stick with what you have. Infact i'd stick with what you have unless there are other games you play that you have issues with. spending 400 dollars for maybe a 3-5fps change is simply not worth it, you would be better off flushing your money down the toilet....YMMV

"Here in his shrine, that they have forgotten. Here do we toil, that we might remember. By night we reclaim, what by day was stolen. Far from ourselves, he grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

I was planning on offsetting the amount spent by selling my current GPU, I do have money set aside to make an impulse purchase such as an upgrade for my GPU. So I'm not looking at a massive loss.

I'm referring to maxed graphics as well, including AA.

I'm running a 980 Ti and I play at 4K with everything maxxed out, and 90% of the time it runs at 55-60FPS with no problems. It will occasionally plummet to 20, but as that's normally in heavily populated areas I suspect I'm CPU-limited as I've only got an i5-4460 @3.4GHz.
