Ive been for a while been wanting to use pirate looking weapons and armor and there is none aside from crownstore clothing and there is no cutlasses to craft, any plan to add a pirate motif so I can craft? heavy armor would be tricky as do pirates use heavy armor? maybe it can be moamer inspired as they are into the sea and as for the rest I just really want to see myself use cutlasses, they were in tes4 for example

Redguard and Thieves Guild style weapons are likely what you're looking for.

As for armor...... maybe Minotaur minus the shoulders and helms?

Not sure on Pirate armor :/

Ah.. First of all - what "Pirate" style do you want? I have 3 answers for u)
    1) If you mean LORE wise pirates of Red Sails company - they wear full "Abahs Watch" armour (you will need to paint it in silver and red). You can find this motive in TG DLC.
    2) If you mean "real life" pirates - you can wear nearly all what you want. Pirates was all over the world< and used all types of armour. But i recomend you to stick with medium armour or MA+heavy cuirass.
    3) If you mean "cinema" pirates - you can look at breton MA/TG style/Nord MA/Imperial MA/soul shriven MA/assasins league MA - but all without shoulders and helmets.

Pirates used many different kinds of armor, as mentioned, depending on what area of the world you're in and the time period. Julius Caesar, for instance, was famously captured and held for ransom by pirates, and we have modern pirates on the high seas today. Pirates, just like any other bandits or outlaws, used whatever armor or weapons they had on hand. We may not typically think of pirates as running around in brigandine or plate cuirasses, but many of them certainly did for the simple reason that they provided excellent protection from langrage, shot, and regular old musket balls just as well as they did against blades.

Now as for a "pirate" motif? Certainly possible. We already have the "light" version with the costumes available, but with the medium and heavy perhaps some assorted leather armor that would be suited for climbing rigging and embarking and debarking a ship, where the heavy armor would likely be similar to Khajiit heavy armor (which if you look is mostly just a sturdy metal chest piece, gauntlets and shin-guards, with the rest being just leather for freedom of movement). Just perhaps in a different style, like the lower level breton heavy armor as mentioned. Plus it would have the added benefit of not making it impossible for you to swim should you fall overboard. Granted, most people in history did NOT know how to swim at all, let alone in the ocean (and there are still a surprising amount today who don't know how to swim, just ask anyone who's ever been through Marine Corps training), but our characters don't have this problem, so I suppose that wouldn't matter as much.

Might be interesting to see, especially if we ever get a Pirates of the Abecean-based expansion.

    One can hope, yes?
