Music Emotes

Was looking at old threads I commented in and discovered a suggestion that is worthy of another thread. It is not a complex suggestion, but one regarding music emotes and the ability to synergize.

We currently have the following music emotes available to use: /drum, /flute and /lute. When used, a random song is played sequentially until the emote is stopped. If several characters play at the same time, it is quite the earsore. It should be possible to type a command to play in harmony, for example: /lute playalong, which would sync your instrument to a nearby instrument.

It may be trivial, but it is worth adding to the game.

If a group of people truly try they CAN get in sync. A small modification to your concept OP would be to use like /lute1 or /lute2 to ensure the song played rather than have one play at random or in a sequential order.

With your suggestion, it would still be difficult to sync instruments.

Not at all! Just requires timing. For example, a group of 7 people could have 6 of them ready to input /lute2 and the 7th gives the command. If the one giving the command posts like this...

    3
    2
    1

...and spaces them a second apart and has it so they hit enter when the commander is supposed to say 0 then that would work fine.

Your suggestion would mean that only organized players are able to sync instruments, without ease, whereas someone who casually wants to play along is not able to.

They can if they know when to time it without choreography. But then again, someone that doesn't care won't sweat whether they can or not anyway lol

Hence my suggestion. One should easily be able to play along with other players.

It's not really that hard to do though. Besides, how would the game know who you are trying to sync up to with that command? They would first need to introduce interactive emotes before they could do anything specific.

*digs up post like a Necromancer he is* Not at all, in swg (Star Wars Galaxies) you could sync up with others when you played as an entertainer. That is all! *gets the dirt and buries back*

I remember my first MMORPG, Guild Wars, had a way of synchronizing emotes - preceding the emote with some character - thought it was /, but maybe not. Suggestion for the developers, ya think?
