It seems that the increase of baffling moderation is confusing some forum goers. Perhaps, you can help us, @ZOS_GinaBruno? I've compiled a list of no-no topics for future reference. If others could provide other topics, I'll edit them in. This will help #MakeForumsGreatAgain2016

The verboden words include,but are not limited to,the following: c-words, b-words, f-words (with or without the q), any word ending in "ooter",whomps,darns,fiddlesticks and/or articles of [censored] English language. - No mentions of literal,figurative, and/or imaginary cheese. The verboden cheeses include,but are not limited,to the following: cheddar,mozzarella, swiss, munster, provolone, and especially not Pecorino Romano(even mentioning this tier 4 verboden cheese requires the forum poster to flap their arms thrice and croon like a rooster in heat). If you find certain gear to be "cheesy", we in management respectfully require you to use the correct terminology: "foresight deficient game design", or "#Wrobeled" for brevity's sake. Thank you for your cooperation in this serious matter.
- No names, this is like the one club we shan't talk about. You lose any sort of individuality on the forums. You stop being Nordy McNorderson, Mr. Bostastiq, etc. You are just a number, not a human being. While talking about people by name isn't naming and shaming per se, it is still offensive to management that you do not recognize that you are just a number. You are not a free man: you are a number. You can find your number by going to your forums profile, typing your SSN 4 times,gargling a Bud Lime, and then doing the hokey pokey (but do not turn yourself around[that is also verboden]).

- Under no circumstance will you ever post a meme depicting a ne'er-do-well cartoon character. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Spiderman,Barney,Twinkie Cowboy, Orange Is the New Black, Captain Caveman, and Thundercats. In addition, any and all Smurf memes are automatically a tier 4 verboden violation, which will result in the immediate removal of all of your peer validation points. Management doesn't like Spiderman, so no "awesomes" for you. Repeated Spoderman posting will result in escalating penalities, up to and including account termination.
Lastly, if you get caught on video flyhacking and ultspamming, don't worry, we will bend over backwards to get you back into the game. However, don't cursey McCuss cuss on the forums, ya hear? We don't take kindly to that round these here parts, partner. The integrity of the game is just

There's obviously a lot of grey area in moderation where you wouldn't want people to post how to trigger bugs (then others can replicate them), or you wouldn't want people to name and shame other players (since that doesn't help the community), and I'm sure there's been cases that weren't handled correctly at the time but it was only realized in hindsight... but I don't see how you're helping in any way.
I'm guessing you're mad about something that happened at some point that I have no knowledge on.. but can we as a community try to work with ZOS instead of against them all the time?Keir3 -

I was really only going by this post, so if this post is representative of "ESO members have spoken .. only to find themselves censored" then i can understand why they were censored... I think a lot of times it's not necessarily the issue being discussed that they try to censor but the way it is discussed (such as this post).
Anyways, I'm guessing this was more meant as a joke based on stuff I don't know about / don't care about... but reading through forums I don't see many examples of open discussion and dialogue from the community side -> It seems like a mess of complaining and whining about contradictory stances. I'm guessing it's difficult to figure out how best to move forward if half the community wants one thing, the other half wants another, but all of them are yelling at ZOS instead of opening up a discussion with them.
From my take (I'm fairly new, so take that as you will), ZOS seems willing to help the community but the community isn't (usually) willing to discuss logically.Keir2 -

That forum discussion has someone report a bug, ZOS replies saying they are looking into it and fixing it... and they did. The grey area I assume is what to do with people who exploited the bug (since it's hard to tell the motives behind the players who exploited it - a lot of players just do it to see if they can, and stop afterwards).
The reaction from the community in that thread is insane - nonstop yelling at how incompetent they are, how they didn't fix it right, how they don't know what they're doing.
Right now I'm seeing more of a madhouse of illogical statements and actions by us, not ZOS... but I'll stick around and see if my mind changes

People were using a terrain bug to enter each faction's starter areas in Cyro. ZoS declared it wasn't an exploit--even though the exploitation of the terrain bug fit every industry standard of what an exploit is. It's one of many examples of dev blunders over the years. Don't even mention the poor deer. #JustZoSThings
