What triggers the cool animations?

So sometimes I see my character has vastly different animations at intermittent intervals, they are really great too and I would wish for them to be implemented 100% of the time.
But what actually triggers them?
Is it your play speed or duration?
I need to know :)

A lot of the sets have really cool little animations. The Might Chudan 2 piece bonus gives your character this subtle purple glow effect that happens every 10-15 seconds or so. Took me a bit to figure out what it was at first, haha.

@moonio not too sure which animations you mean, though. The dodge roll animation is different depending on which direction you roll in (forward summersault vs backwards roll).

    Maybe take a video?

If you see them all the time you probably wouldn't think they were as cool.

I'm guessing though you purchased or were given a personality and you have it installed. This makes them do other animations.

No it's not a personality I don't have one :P , the animations only occur during combat in PVP

Depends on what you are using. For instance, if you use Flame Lash on an unbalanced enemy it upgrades to power Lash with a cool spin. (Bonus, hitting a rooted or stunned enemy with Flame Lash will set them unbalanced, 5 second cool down. So a second hit will give you the power lash animation.)

Ahh so maybe its a balance thing... I will check.
But there are also things like jumping up in the air whilst performing biting jabs, slipping on a ground effect, doing somersaults and even some of the magica animations change from time to time...
Maybe its my imagination but I don't think so... :P

I know the assassin ult for NB sometimes causes your character to flip in air while slashing or high jump and slash. It is pretty cool.

That is from when incap used to scale it's dmg with how much ult you had, if you saved over an x amount it's did that other animation.

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

Yeah, now it's just to show you that you saved too much Ultimate. :P

Dodge (e.g. from Medium armor skill or certain armor sets) can give some neat animations when it procs.

Particularly like Hist Bark's dodge animation where the shield deflects attacks.

Ok the animations I mean are, where instead of doing a backwards roll you do a somersault, I love this! When there is a red effect on the ground your character slips and skids and makes a wailing noise.
When you are doing biting jabs you sort of hop up and down. There is one more magica one which I can't say because it's so cool I think I must have dreamt it and also because well... It does not do what it says on the tin... ;)

The dodge is the same as the dodge from normal dodging. You pretty much just do a little side step

Normal dodging I ROLL. I don't randomly and uncontrollably roll when these sets should be doing stuff....

Yeah, but the dodge roll provides a small evasion buff. If you don't get attacked during the roll, the next attack for a few seconds after will also miss and your character will do a little side step. Same with the Evasion skill

There used to be an animation after a roll where if you still had projectiles coming your way and the "dodge period" you get from rolling hadn't yet expired your char would kind of arch his back as if trying to avoid a ball that had been kicked at him. Haven't seen that animation for a while though. I tried to find a video example but failed, sorry.
