Will this PC run at ultra setting or something?

I just ordered Alienware Aurora R5 base and 24" gaming monitor. I never own a gaming pc in my whole life. I'm not a technical expert and I want your opinion on this one.

8 GB (4 GB × 2 DDR4) 2133 MHz SDRAM (I don't know what MHz means).

2 TB Hard Drive 7200 RPM

NIVIDA GeForce GTX 960 with 4 GB GDDR5

Intel Core i7 6700 (4 - cores, 8 MB cache) Turbo boost 2.0 GHz up to 4.0

460W PSU cool chassis

I hope this desktop will run on brand new games because it costs me $2,200. I won't be happy if it didn't.

Your DDR4 RAM are comparable to high end DDR3 according to your MHz (This is your RAM clock-speed).

They are still better than 2133MHz DDR3 dims but I would say 8gb wouldn't be enough for ALL Ultra. I'd pump it up to 16GB DDR4 2133 (Or higher if your motherboard can support) and then you should be fine. I believe the 960 is enough for Ultra but I never used the x60 series I always get the x80.

Anyway... best way to find out is to test it out ;)

Thank you. I never own a gaming desktop before. I decided to switch from PS4 to PC because PC have a bigger community and you can download a few add on.

I'll do some research on my motherboard and see what its support. I'm thinking of upgrading GeForce 970 to 1080 with maybe 6 GB graphic card. Graphic cards aren't that cheap. The best part about Alienware Aurora R5 is that everything is possible.

Damn if you can get a 1080 that would be one hell of an upgrade and ultra settings for sure.

But remember you may experie ce lag dure to ZOS servers. They tend to make playerd lag a lot ;)

I also wonder if this pc will run on Star Wars Battlefront and newest games in the future without any upgrade.

It may or may not run it at ultra settings. I have a somewhat comparable PC, but with ssd's, and double your system and video ram. I still have to turn down/off some settings (shadows, particles and particle distance) to keep the fps consistent. The game just isn't optimized well enough to run great all the time.

Hate to rain on your parade but what you paid for a somewhat middle run gaming PC makes me choke.

I am learning about pc gaming. This is new experience for me. Now that my girlfriend can watch her favorite talk shows and for me to play some game on PC we both happy. I will definitely upgrade to 6 GB video card by Christmas or upgrade RAM memory. I still need the money to buy an engagement ring through.

This is good enough for me right now. I hope this PC will keep me happy for a while.

Do you think this PC will run other games like Star Wars Battlefront or Fallout 4?

You will be able to run a custom 'very high', but not everything maxxed at a stable 55-60 fps. Upgrade your pvysical ram to 16gb and put a decent ssd for a very noticeable upgrade. The game doesnt bittleneck at the gpu, so while adding a 1080 will be an excellent all around upgrade, this particular game wont use it to its full potential.

Edit: You will need an upgraded power supply to run the new card as well.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

You're paying Apple type premiums for name/look.

If you have any friends that can build a system they could put together a MUCH better system for hundreds less.

Well Dell is building my desktop and ship to me in two weeks.

I'm happy because this desktop can run Elder Scrolls Online and a few other games.

    I can always upgrade later.

I run Ultra settings at 60 FPS with a slightly lower spec PC than this, so I'm sure it will be great :)

Thank you all for your help. I figured RAM upgrade is necessary. My graphic card is still good for a while.

I will find 16 GB RAM memory before Christmas. I think they are around $100.
