I don't understand why they are coming out with nerfed versions of the current trial gear. Like the Ophidian Jack of Celerity which is a knock off version of Vicious Ophidian without the Stam Regen from kills. Whats the point of these? Do they drop from non trials or something?

    Looks like you don't know as much about the game as you'd like to think. He is right, it has been in the game for a long game. Its main purpose is to provide some rarity to VO, I think.

    They were the original versions and then when Hard Mode was introduced is when the better versions came in. When all gear got bumped to cp160 they came back.

    They were trial drops a few patches ago, at like v12?

    When trials got scaled to v16 (maybe even v14?) they just dropped these sets.

    This patch, they're bringing them back.

    The person you quoted is correct. At least mostly. There used to be some 3 PC jewelry/weapon sets that I think they're making into 5 PC sets but essentially there is no completely new stuff being added to trials.

    Only got them in 1.6 buddy!! I know guys like you who only recently started doung maw a d stuff then went into hel ra and AA and didnt know the mechanics!! The sets you wear now were o ce godly sets with two 3 pc and two 5 pc on sets for a total of 7 set bonuses

    VO is still superior to the other ophidian set, which preceeded VO actually.

    However, some of the old revamped 3 piece sets ( like ophidian venom and twice fanged snake) are possibly competitive.
