Noob question

I have been hearing about weekly trials and saw there is an achievement for doing them but no idea what they are. Do they work like daily pledges, but on weekly bases ? if so where are they picked up? I tried asking using in game chat on PS4 EU, but got no answer.

Weekly trials provide an opportunity to get rewards from being on the leader boards for said weekly. You get achievements for doing the trials as you would with vet dungeons and they aren't tied to any weekly trials that would be running.

I have run few trials before, got few achievements, but I still don't know what is the weekly trial or how to do and unlock the achievement for doing so.

Right now, if i wanted to do the weekly trial, what do I have to do?

Look at the leaderboards from your journal. Under trials there'll be kne that says weekly. Just go do the trial that it indicates.

The trials must be on veteran mode and scaled to 160 CP to get the achievement and qualify for the leader board; the latter requirement was added later because people exploited the system and got on the leader board running with a ~CP10 trial leader on veteran mode and thus down-scaling the trial so it was a cakewalk. Many got the weekly rewards, as well as rewards for veteran completion (titles, skins) by cheating this way. Running normal trials will only get you the "[trial name] completed" achievement.

I'm not even new and I want to know- how the hell do you find trial groups nowadays? (And no, joining a guild is not the answer I'm looking for.)

I think for normal trials the easiest way is to go to Craglorn or the 2nd zone in your alliance, that contains the capital city - Deshaan, Stormhaven or Grahtwood - and simply check the zone chat. There are a lot of messages of "LFG/LFM x [role name] for n[trial abbreviation]". Normal trials are easy enough to be PUG-able for players with 200 CP or more and decent gear and skill rotation. Veteran ones are a totally different ball game though, for those you really need a guild and be a really good player.
