Is spawn of mephala set good for dps ...

Now that heavy attacks gives back resources (especially with staffs) is spawn of mephala a good set for dps as it procs100% of the time?

Options and responses are much appreciated thank you in advance

It's decent; however, it is lacking damage from initial impact, unlike Valkyn Skoria or Velidreth.

pve sure since mobs are too stupid to move out. pvp....nope.

velidreth > mephala! way more damage and i can still medium weave so i dont have to fully charge the heavy attack

I feel it's ok for the damage but I'm not sure if the "reduced movement speed by 50%" works as intended. Sometimes I feel that mobs run in the web area with full speed when they should be slowed down significantly.
The cool thing for me however is that the web works for all mobs affected in range, not just single one, so it's a cool aoe damage. I use it on my stamina dragonknight with 1H/S and dual wield. Due to high damage from DW heavy attacks I found this set very useful. The web's visual effect is also very well made.

Mephala was one of the better stam dps monster sets until Velidreth came around, but that outpaces Mephala by quite a bit, especially since it deals poison damage instead of magic damage, thereby scaling with a stam dps's CP allocations. I can see its usefulness in a heavy-attack IA magicka build too, but I don't have experience with it.

Edit: They changed Mephala awhile back to deal poison damage (it happened I think in DB, just before Velidreth came out). I doubt it would be a superior option for a magicka build as poison damage, but maybe still worth trying in an IA/heavy attack build.

Mephala is actually a good bow set up for dungeons in pve and ok in group pvp but not solo I have hit it into a big group and its fun to see them get mowed over. But there are better sets.

In theory, it has more DPS on the proc than Veli on static fights.

In pratice, the 1p weapon damage, combined to the fact it's not required to use a heavy attack and works much better for non-static fights or where enemies are spread out make Veli the clear winner.

Mephala is still a decent set if you don't feel like farming for Veli yet.

Mobs moving out is also a problem in PVE.

As long as it did not proc you should not do a HA on a ranged mob that wants to fight melee,
because if it procs then, the mob will still move to you, the web damaging thin air..
AND you have to wait for 10 seconds before it can proc again !

=> you can only use it against mobs doing a ranged fight, standing still,
and against mobs already in melee range.

If you have some holding abilty of some sort Mephalas Spawn can be quite decent.
however due to the (1) effect of maximum health and the lack of burst dps it is far inferior compared to Velidreth.
