According to this Twitter post it is Oct 5th for PC.

Seems a bit odd to have it on a Wednesday...though that might be to give a day for everyone to download and another for any emergency fixes before the weekend hits.

I wouldn't take the day of the release off from work. Servers are likely to be down for an extended period of time. I'm sure you know this song and dance, but just echoing what's been said above.

Take the following day, or even the day after that, off.

Yeah... I've been burnt with this a few times... book the day off,,, server comes back up in the evening when I would have been back from work anyway.

I've booked the Thurs & Fri off (Had some hols to use up)... feels more reliable than the wed tbh.

Have they moved maintenance and updates to Wednesdays now? Wednesday at the time they did maintenance this past week is my biggest chunk of playing time for the week, and I really need time to farm for VO -_-

the only thing that concerns me about One Tamriel release is the lag it will most likely bring. NONE of these changes have really been tested to scale at all.

Just going on past experience with the Anniversary Cake that made the zones its was in completely unplayable with red ping lags that was atrocious...i seriously hope they have culled back the amount of people they are going to allow in an instance because if this is Anniversary Cake type of experience, then thats a lighting patch 2.0 type of debacle that will probably drive a lot of people away...those who don't remember the lighting patch, its what caused ESO to drop its sub because they lost over half their paying subs because of it, and it lead to B2P. The game was actually doing very well prior to that with a little over 700k subs.

just watching a normal 20v20 keep battle in Cyrodiil cause ping issues for a lot of people I don't see how this is gonna work...the software just simply scales poorly the more people you have in one place...the fact that there hasn't been a few thousand people online at once in say Stormhaven or anywhere else on the PTS....lack of real proper testing...this has all the ingredients to be a diaster of the proportions of the lighting patch. There are people with $2,000 dollar Braodwell-E gaming rigs and dual SLI that getframe rate and ping issues in Cyrodiil.

I hope I am wrong, I am a paying customer after all, I do like playing the game, I wouldn't pay a sub if i didn't...but this doesn't seem like its been fully tested to scale and thats a big concern for me. I don't want to be stuck with an unplayable game for a few weeks thats all.

If this works though, it sounds like a good change to the game. Im just worried from a performance perspective, and past actions and events make those concerns warranted.

I hate the current game alliance areas and Cadwell's Silver & Gold because:
- halfway trough an own alliance area I have already outleveled it and get no XP or loot from kills
- first 3 zones in silver still scale too low and the XP gain is only ~1/3 compared to what it should be
- the drops from mobs and the node yield are out of synch since DB (vet rank removal) and my inventory gets cluttered with 2-3 tiers of materials at the same time, which are useless to my char since it already has much more than 160 CP
- some areas are really empty and if I need help to clear a world boss or public dungeon there's none to be had; same goes for Coldharbour and Craglorn which are instanced by alliance by default now.
- having 3 separate instances of each area, of which at least 2 are mostly empty is a huge waste of server resources which could be better allocated to reduce load times and lag - probably that's the main reason ZOS will implement One Tamriel.
As a result I have deferred leveling my 4 junior characters further until this update. I hope it's not postponed.

@RinaldoGandolphi One Tamriel won't change a thing about populations really. I mean even now if an instance gets full the megaserver creates a new copy of the instance. So with One Tamriel the server will just create another copy of the instance you are in if it gets filled with people from the same alliance or a different alliance, instead of having an empty copy of 2 enemy alliances by default

Thanks for the info and update. Not knocking ZOS too much at all.. given this is such an expansive and ambitious venture for its developers, but embrace for the impact of potential issues with the installment, as history with this entity have shown with its weekly issues. Could potentially be several days of having a disturbance in the force until things gets smoother. Plus, with console, you would still to download and install after developer's installation as further steps. Just saying.. so expect/embrace for the potential impact. Might be a good time to book a short trip/vacation and take that sweetheart of your to a good resort or something.. maybe also a time to get into that other game or its DLC you been itching to get into.

I don't think they will. If anything, they will go down. Raiders will no longer be selling gold BoE loot to earn millions, and noone else could afford even the current prices.
