For the last few days I've been paying attention and finding the amount of people in a campaign hanging around Afk during pop locked campaigns to be very serious . I have seen entire raids away from keyboard up to 30 minutes just standing around . With campaign locks so low and ques so high , this is damaging to any faction . An I have seen this on more then one faction . Players that want to actually participate in PvP can not get in to replace these bot people .

In other games there is some options . Vote to kick and ready checks . If players don't engage in combat within a few minutes they get booted . I know this does not help those playing security at keeps but somethings need to be done to keep Cyrodiil active and not a bot hangout . @ZOS_BrianWheeler , I hope you will consider looking into this issue . It's not very fun for players that commit to a campaign and have to wait in long ques because lots of AFK people . People want to PvP .

Not including IC as part of the above ground population would go a long way in reducing queue time.

Tonight when I logged on my main Templar, he instantly was in cyro . Is the game failing to kick players out of the pop if they log out?

No doubt . We still need Cyrodiil to be active though . I've seen some individuals in the same starting spot all day doing nothing . PvP zones should encourage PvP to happen and discourage inactivity . A dungeon group would not tolerate someone Afk so why should we ? 10-15 minutes is pushing it but ok fine . Someone standing around a 1/2 hour when others are waiting in line just seems foolish .

If your idle for some time, you do get kicked. So...are some players doing something to keep themselves in game? Some kind of macro for key spamming perhaps?

I do not know about this . I know twice I got disconnected and each time que was 41 or higher wait . When I got back in finally , same people AFK at start areas for over 1/2 hour . Turn in kill quests , still there AFK . Enough people to fill a raid sometimes . That's not good for PvP .

When I was DC I seen this happen many times but DC was low pop so no que then . Still low pop and a bunch of AFK people only makes bad situation worse . This needs fixing .

They come back to the keyboard , wiggle the toon so no AFK kick or open crafting bag , then go AFK again . I have no idea why and don't care why really . Just want Cyrodiil active and people that want to fight to be able to get back in quick if lag or servers boot them .

Telel reccomends reporting them for botting, and having others in your group doing so. Perhaps after giving them one quick whisper to remind them that using programs to sit online is against TOS. As is purposely harming other people's game experience by engaging in malicious behavior.

This is also how this one handles folks who always seem to be inside outposts ork eeps being attacked, but whom only interested in firing heavy attacks at the transitus shrine.

That what they always do . Heavy attack the wayshrine . There is no reward in that and just clogging up the que .

Not too keen on vote to kick because it can be trolled, but a kick from the server for being inactive sounds reasonable. You'd want to give them a good 30 minutes before it kicks them though. Obviously moving your character forward a few steps then going afk again would not be rewarded as "active".
As mentioned, IC takes a decent chunk of the population also. It should probably be separated from Cyrodiil (not geographically, just population-wise). It'd be quite cool to see how many people are in IC also before you decide to dive in.

I agree a 1/2 is a long time to be AFK all that time and don't like systems that troll people unnecessarily . Players should be in some kind of fight in a 1/2 hour .

The nastier side of this is an opposing faction leaving a toon standing there to reduce the amount of people out fighting. I'm sure some guilds have extra accounts for such a nefarious tactic. There are still others that might actually be at the keys having a meeting to discuss tactics or guild agenda's etc. (not my idea of fun, but it does happen)

If your seeing someone out there all day? Hmm, yeah. idk how to address it. It irks me too. I waited in a 36 person queue, only to get in and my raid leader needed to log about 5 minutes after I finally got there. Blew my pvp time out the window for the night cause i won't run solo. I'm not built for it or ganking.

I'll also agree, for the love of baby RNjebus, they HAVE to separate the link between IC and Cyro pops. It's just plain dumb.

I fully agree with everyone about the imperial city population problem . I do not even own the expansion and never will , it's not my play style at all . But my issue here is just with people camping out when players are waiting to actually play the game in Cyrodiil .

People need bio breaks , quick meals ect , I understand . I would encourage them to log out but if they want to stay in doing nothing fine . 25 Minutes and c'mon already . It's like everybody being in the roller coaster line waiting for you to be finishing your Icecream cone ... Sure ok , eat it but hurry up . This makes Tu'whacca's turban feathers droopy .

Easy way to handle this is via getting a kill on a player. After 10 minutes of no activity you get a debuff and on screen warning that you will be removed from the campaign unless you gain a PvP kill. Could easily just be tagging someone and him/her die to other players etc etc.

I say PvP kill so people can't go attack enemy guards to stay in Cyrodiil.

Just let us queue directly into IC, and make it a separate "server". It's not like we need to control our home keeps to enter the sewers or anything, so it's just a nuisance now.

Queues both exacerbate and cause the issue.

With a queue, people are loathe to exit Cyrodiil while doing something simple like grabbing a sandwich or even watching a TV show.

Due to the queue and the population limit, them being AFK instead of fighting makes it harder to defend/attack.

Defense ticks make it even more obvious as people will AFK in a forward keep to soak up AP instead of at the gates where they're at least not contributing to lag or soaking up rewards for which they did nothing.
