Champ level characters in under 50 campaign.

I'm on the US megaserver with my main alliance war campaign being blackwater blade, which is a level 50 or under campaign. Me and my friend were grouped just running towards nikel when we saw a level v600 or so running around killing everyone. And while we were on the same team as said player it still ruined everyone's experience. Does anyone know if this is a bug that has been reported or if this is something that just happens super rarely?

Once a toon reaches level 50 in black water they immediately show their champion points (531max). CP still isn't active, so they could just have the benefit of better gear.

It's not a rare occurrence by any means. It's been termed "vetting out" when the vet ranks were still in place. Pretty much you PvP on a lowbie in Blackwater until you hit level 50. Due to the nature of the game, it won't kick you from the campaign until the next time you logout and login to that character so people take advantage of this system even if they have no advantage now that they did when BWB had the champ system allowed.
