Advanced combat system/character creation

The current combat system, as I can see it, is based on the combat trinity, which was used in Elderscrolls character creation system - thief/mage/warrior, but the problem is the advanced system in ESO, derived from this, is not based on that directly - health is standing alone, so it is actually dual system of magicka and stamina, which I can see it doesn't work well (for example if it is really true, that damage is based on amount of magicka/stamina, then all the combos, claimed to be working, doesn't work, because they are not at their full potential, thus useless). Also RPG players miss more deep character creation - different ways of how to evolve their character - they do miss the starnard attributes like might, dexternity or intelligence and I think, even the combat itself is less good without it.
It does work quite as it is, but it could be better.


If there would be these equation/variables in their combat system :
magicka=int,wis
stamina=strenght, dexternity
health=endurance, will

then they could easily transform it into more developed system, similar to the classic one, which everyone is used to have, only by letting the players choose not only amount of magicka/stamina/health, but also amount of regen, then according to this new system it would be :

magicka pool = wisdom, magicka regen = intelligence
stamina pool = strength, stamina regen = dexternity
health pool = endurace, health regen = will


then the character creation example could be:

thief = will+dexternity, so the player would like to rise stamina regen+ health regen
warrior = strength+endurance, so he would raise stamina pool+health pool
mage= wisdom+intelligence, or intelligence+ will, then he would want to raise magicka pool+regen, or magicka regen+health regen (for summoners or CC users)

Also damage could be derived from such stats - dexternity(stamina regen) for long range weapons and dual wield, stamina pool (strength) for t-h and 1 handed+shield, damage for magicka would be wisdom for direct damage, magicka regen for dots, endurance and health regen would be for defense i guess - for some sort of thoughness and resistance. So it wouldn't be stamina only.

and also another defense could be according to this:

magicka users would avoid damage by resisting
stamina users would avoid damage by dodge
health users would avoid damage by endurance

So the damage done by such builds and their defence would be more accurate, more detailed to how the player would like to play his character it would reflect the playing style of different players.

I was thinking about it because now I can see stamina based mages (just because it is working), but I'm not sure this is how it should work - I cannot imagine to be part of endgame of this game, if I would be forced to accept such builds, just to able to do any damage and to defend myself.
